Bi Han Xuan Di Ecological Museum

This weekend we went to Bi Han Xuan Di Ecological Museum ( 碧涵軒帝雉生態館 ). After a lengthy adventure to get a scooter we were off to the bird sanctuary. Photography is not allowed inside so all the pictures are sourced from online

It was a very interesting place with a variety of birds. There were chickens, peacock, and pheasants of different varieties. 

The highlight of the place was the Argus ( a type of pheasant) and was the focus of the tour. Often times translated out to phoenix these birds are under threat in their native range of Southern China and Vietnam. The owner told me that in their breeding program they have about a 90% success rate. 

They had both Creased Argus 

and Great Argus 

Argus feathers can grow very long on the male birds 

I think that the tour use to include more but we went during the off season and they are doing construction to expand. 

admission is 200 NTD (6.50 USD) and you should make a reservation to come ahead of time. The staff do not speak English so it is a good idea to bring a Chinese speaking friend if you do not know Chinese.

After this we went back to Su’ao, where we had rented the scooter. 

Suao is a lovely town on the ocean. You can make it a day trip from elsewhere in Yilan County or even Hualien. There is a beach, a coral museum and cold springs. Their is also an active shopping area around the port that is selling fish and fish products.

I’m telling you flat I disagree. I’m very well aware that Chinese people, like every other people on Earth, are capable of critical thinking, individual thought, and are able to resist the mob mentality.

I STILL think Mao was a murderer who was responsible for creating a vast repressive system, a famine that killed over 30 million people, and instigating atrocities like “struggle sessions” and “re-education camps” where people were beaten, tortured, starved, overworked, and murdered.

None of that is unique to Mao or China. Plenty of other repressive systems in other countries mirrored very similar atrocities.

Frankly it’s racist of YOU to try to play down this bloody era of history by acting like racist historians concocted it out of thin air as pure fiction.

OFFICIAL: Nintendo Switch “exclusively for non-straight folk”

It’s official! Chief Representative of Nintendo of America confirmed no less than 24 hours after the first official trailer for the new Nintendo console was released, that this console would only work if you aren’t cishet.

“It’ll just lock up and refuse to let you play,” The representative continued. “It’s patented technology, reverse engineered from all the vitriol we’ve had to suffer at the hands of hets to keep us from enjoying ourselves.”

The representative made a point of saying that people who weren’t eligible to use the console would simply be locked out, not shocked or anything as some pundits have claimed could happen. They explained with a chuckle “That’s not something we would do! That would be a feature on a straights-exclusive console, I’m sure, but not ours”.

There has been some good news for cishet gamers who still want to have a crack at the latest Super Mario or Zelda games, though - if they can submit a letter to Nintendo citing 5 of their LGBT friends, or pay an monthly fee of $50 (£40), they can get a license to play with these friends or solo under the new ‘Ally’ system. This feature will not roll out with the console and has been projected to be released by Q2 of 2017.

The NX, or the Nintendo Switch as it’s now been officially confirmed to be called, will be released in March 2017.

But, the biggest buyers could be countries.
