Happy 4th of July! ❤💙❤💙❤💙❤ . We've sculpted, glazed, scented and ship over 200 of these bomb pop earrings this week! We got about 150 more to go! Thank you all who have supported and purchased my art. These last couple of weeks have been so busy, exhausting and yet so fun! I still can't believe my Etsy shop went viral!! Celebrate Freedom! Why is June 19th an important day for African-Americans? In 1863, during the American Civil War Pres. Abraham Lincoln issued the Emancipation Proclamation, which declared more than three million slaves living in the Confederate states to be free. More than two years would pass, however, before the news reached African Americans living in Texas. It was not until Union soldiers arrived in Galveston, Texas, on June 19, 1865, that the state’s residents finally learned that slavery had been abolished. The former slaves immediately began to celebrate with prayer, feasting, song, and dance. Today we commemorate the 155th anniversary of #Juneteenth, marking the abolition of slavery in Texas. There's always time to do the right thing.... These past few weeks have been nothing short of challenging, exhausting, and emotional to say the least. I had to log off and take a break for my mental health which is why you haven't seen me posting in a while.
