It's over now the music of the night etc etc…I'm listening to All I Ask of You right now and there's a deep sadness in my bones. An ache I don't think will ever go all the way away because even when it reopens or there's a tour it'll never be the same. Thank you Phantom for being there for me when I didn't want to get out of bed every day and not just because I was tired, thank you for all the nights spent listening to All I Ask of You (just like this but not like this at all) raving about Raoulstine. Thank you for making me laugh and my heart pound in my throat during TWO (TWO!!!!!!!!!!!) chandelier rises, thank you for giving me strength and brainrot and making me happy. I can't believe you’re gone. It feels like you faded into the wind. Into nothingness. But you didn't. You touched me and so many other people, and though the tagline for the closing has been help us say goodbye I’m not going to because it's not the end. With luck I'll see the London production one day, I'll watch the 25th anniversary over and over again until and after then, I’ll think about you every day because you're just a part of me now. Just. Thank you. Forever.

One of the moments that most stuck out to me tonight was when they raised the chandelier back up during intermission. Most people were standing up or already walking, headed on their way to the bathrooms or merch stalls. But then Ruthie II started to rise, and there was this wave of quiet that went through the crowd. A large proportion of people (in the mezz, at least) stopped where they were, and just watched in silence until the chandelier completed its climb. Of course we all clapped our hands off to show the performers and crew our appreciation, but that moment of respect and reverence shown for an inanimate setpiece that we all loved so much was something that will stick with me for a long time.

Hello! I recently made a post asking if anyone had a recording of the same cast that I took my kid to for his first Phantom back in February, which was Ben Crawford, Julia Udine, and Paul Adam Schaefer. However I wound up bringing him back last weekend for his second (and last 😭) show. That time we saw Jeremy Stolle, Julia Udine and John Riddle.

While I would love to have a recording of the same performers from his first show, his last would be amazing too, and I heard you might have video of Jeremy, Julia and John performing together. Unfortunately I am a very new phan and I have no videos or audio to offer in trade, but I would happily pay, and I also do silly cartoons if art would be to your liking. This would just be for me to put on a DVD for my son and wouldn't be shared elsewhere.

If the recording isn't one you want to share than no worries, but I figured it couldn't hurt to ask. My son adores Phantom and enjoyed seeing it in person so much, I'd love to give him the chance to somewhat relive the experience. 😊 Thanks!

I know how closing makes us feel, so here you go, phans.

A good show, especially PONR &Finale. From last week, when Jeremy took over for 7 performances. Normally they don’t schedule phantom u/s dates like this when the principal calls out, so I guess it’s Jeremy himself wanted to go on, while the others didn’t or had some issues. And man just cried at stage door several times recently. I feel sad, but at least he got to do this a few more times before closing.

Pls do not post the link on other public platforms. I am not really into trading, and I also don’t do this for financial purpose. Just something to remember, and I believe it’s not meaningless.

It’s been a while since i posted, but i saw phantom again today and i thought i’d share the notes I wrote after the show and some general comments!

i first saw it live back in 2020 (march 5th, like a week before shutdown) with meghan picerno, ben crawford, and john riddle in REALLY good seats, like 5th row. went stagedooring after and had a great time! i actually had a talk w/ meghan and she was super sweet.

this time, i saw it with 2 other people and a little farther back. (i put pics of playbill/full cast at the bottom)

here are the notes i wrote (literally copy and pasted from my notes app):

“act 1:

love love love overture, lots of cheering

raquel is amazing and FUNNY as always

emilies acting is amazing, her shyness at the beginning of ToM is great

TED

his acting is PHENOMENAL.

cried during overture, ToM, and title song and MoTN

ted’s MoTN was LIFE CHANGING. words cannot describe how amazing it was.

the lighting changes from the bway update are great

lots of good laughs/reactions from audience!!

paul is paul

buquet hanging was so much slower than i thought it was???? the last time i was it live it was a wayyyy faster drop. idk.

emilies apprehension at the beginning of the rooftop was v good

many people audibly gasped when they saw ted come out of the angel

act 2

managers got good laughs at the beginning of masquerade

emilie super distressed beginning of twisted.. v good…

“little lotte thought of everything… her father promised her…” was bitter and sad, SUPER good moment

wishing was phenomenal, lots of emotion.

big applause after wishing, went on for about 20 seconds

ted’s phantom is so cocky, i love it. the tone of his voice when he is mocking raoul and the police officers was so good

noticed elizabeth welch and kanisha feliciano during don juan!

PoNR was good as always

“darkness deep as hell” was powerful, i got chills

i loved how emilie started off strong-willed in the beginning of the final lair, but as it goes on she act lost/hopeless

the similarities between hugh panaro’s the whole “wait, i think my dear, we have a guest…” and ted’s was there- both SO done with everything and very sarcastic.

started sobbing (almost uncontrollably) after the kiss, the rest of the show i did not stop crying

10/10”

also, i met ted keegan at the stage door and he is possibly the nicest human on this earth.

Not that this is anything new for ALW, but again I find it messed up that a news source was able to let the company and public know before the official team. I heard about this by 2pm, the company apparently didn’t find out until 4pm. Through Zoom. Again. From what I heard there was a rehearsal going on and then they had to get on a Zoom before official sources started sharing it at around 6pm. And were then expected to do their show at 8 like nothing happened!

Also, they have a new Andre and are going to have a new Raoul. They were also casting for a new Giry. That doesn’t sound like a show that was getting ready for closing. Just like Cinderella.

And finally, ALW and the official accounts have yet to say anything. Why??

There’s just so much that doesn’t make sense.
