The discovery of the statue of Antinous in Delphi, Greece in 1894
Really obsessed with this one like how old cameras worked making everyone blurry against the statue and just makes you realize how long the statue has been right. There.

A few years back (21, to be precise), I released a single with remakes of two Calypso tunes. The musicians at that time were the Swiss band “The Scrucialists”, in addition to that there was Götz Alsmann on the piano, Benny Brown on Trumpet, Ritski Bracht on saxophones and Marcus Paßlick on percussions. The single sold out quickly, and 9 years later, both songs (Lord Kitchener’s “Dr. Kitch”, re-named as “The Needle”, and Mighty Sparrow’s “Obeah Wedding”) re-appeared on the 4-track 10" EP “Kalipso Times”, that also featured the original compositions “All because I love you” (previously released on the first Dr. Ring Ding Ska-Vaganza album) and the brand new “The Cat and the Rooster”. The latter was my attempt to write a Sparrow-like song that works on more than one level. It was recorded with musicians of “Jazzkantine”, plus some of the aforementioned guests. I just came to realize that neither “The Cat and the Rooster” nor “Obeah Wedding” had ever been available on the streaming circuit. So here you are! Enjoy two Dr. Ring Ding Calypsos for the first time on Spotify (or whatever platform you happen to be frequenting). 🇹🇹🇩🇪🇨🇭🇺🇲🇯🇲
