“I see. So... must you always yell ‘yeet’ when you throw an item? Is any throw a yeet? And are yeets always throws? Or could any sufficiently violent action be considered a yeet?”

“Well, alright. You are the expert in yeeting after all.” In one fluid motion, the glasses return to his face. He pulls a neatly folded piece of paper from his breast pocket and holds it out.

“Oh! Well, alright.” Cyrus tucks his glasses and notebook away safely and stands at the ready. “I hadn’t realized this would be quite so physical. Is this some type of hug or greeting?”

“Ah, so it is a verb, is it?” Cyrus pulls a small, plain brown notebook from his back pocket and a pen from who-knows-where. He squints down into the tiny pages and begins to write. “ ‘To Yeet’ . . . . verb . . . .” He pauses, and glances back up to Therion. “Ah yes- you have a demonstration! Have at it my good man. I’m ready!”

❛ mm… ❜ sleep clouds him, hazy and thick like the midnight fog rolling in off the seascape, like the messy blond curls slicing his shadowed face in thin parts. his thumb follows its compass to cyrus’s chin and holds him steady, anchored, despite the waves. leon can scarcely see him through this darkness; he tilts him forward and noses a kiss to his damp cheek, warm breath painting it with mist.

his body molds to the angle of the pillows behind them, straw mattress creaking as he eases cyrus back down into the tousled blankets, into the open harbor of his chest. leon’s chin brushes at cyrus’s shoulder and settles there, arm closing around his waist to hold him close, hold him safe. his leg sneaks into the mix, tangled over cyrus’s, protective.

the rocking tide and cyrus’s warmth start to drift leon into a light doze. his jaw cracks open in a long, stretching yawn, and he mumbles a kiss into the base of cyrus’s neck, through his dark, feathery hair. ❛ nothing will get past me… i promise. ❜

Against the soft warmth of Leon's embrace, his heart drums wild; his hands shake. Cyrus rubs at the damp still clinging to his cheeks before allowing himself to settle into Leon's arms fully. He tilts his head 'round far as he can, and though it's more a bump of his nose rather than a kiss, the meaning is all the same. It's hard not to linger there, to turn and beg for a kiss, a barrage of kisses – as many as it takes to forget – but he turns away, and settles into the pillow.

"I only wish it were something you could defend against, love." His voice is low, tinged with frustration that grows beyond a single restless night- it's silly, he's safe, isn't he? Gazing off into the dark, he focuses on nothing but the play of light through the cabin window. The walls don't close in here; they breathe with each rise and fall of the waves.

His fingers trace imaginary patterns in the dark across Leon's arm over scar and muscle. "I'm afraid this is simply one memory that won't leave me be."

Fingers fidget, worrying over the loose locks kissing the nape of his neck, brushing the crisp white collar of his undershirt. Cyrus' gaze shifts from the mirror to the man, sunlit and glowing in the bright beams of the morning. "Truly? I don't know that I-" he trails off, the soft pink dust of his cheeks betraying the thought- I don't know that I've worn it down except to bed.

He snorts, taming his smile into something a little more playful. "Perhaps I may indulge you today." With a few more flicks through his hair for good measure, Cyrus stands back from his vanity, pulling a black silk ribbon into his hand before he makes his way across the room. Slipping the fabric back and forth between the pads of his fingers, he sinks into the edge of the bed. Leaning over, planting a soft kiss to Leon's forehead, he lingers, remaining close. "Would you mind indulging me as well, love? I'd rather like to see you wear your hair up!"
