Rule of thumb: In every oppressed group, the women are having a worse time of it. This is due to a concept called "misogyny", which intersects with everything
This is a lesbian sex party invitation from 1970s San Francisco. I love that it has coffee stains on it, like it was left out on a table for a while.
"terf" is absolutely only as popular as it is due to it referring to women. people who don't believe that jkr is a real feminist still call her a "terf" and not a "transphobe" because by using "terf" they can make it clear that they are referring to a woman. same logic as with "cunt" or "bitch". language is gender neutral only until you need to use it to slap some sense into a woman you hate.
'Patriarchy does not select who to oppress based on how we feel, behave or identify ourselves. We are oppressed based on the sex you can see on that sonogram. Beginning with that sonogram, females are designated as subhuman, belonging to the class to be exploited. Once born, we are educated on how to be ‘feminine’ (that is gender), to ensure our submission. We are not oppressed because we are feminine, we are feminine because we are oppressed.'

Do it for them.
This absolute queen.
The author says she will help fund a legal action after a vulnerable 13-year-old was denied her request to be moved at the Bishopbriggs unit
Read the full article, it’s fucking hair raising
This is what it looks like to use even a fraction of your time, talent, and resources to help women btw. This sort of thing should be the norm. Imagine if all extraordinarily wealthy women would regularly do things like this to help other women and girls, the strength and solidarity we would begin to build.
If bitch isn’t a misogynistic slur because “anyone can be called one” then explain the ‘no bitches’ meme where the word is quite literally used as a replacement for women.
"Bitches" and "women" are used interchangeably in so many contexts. It's everywhere in top 40 songs. It's wild to claim that it's not a gendered word at all, esp when the literal meaning is "female dog". Like if u don't care about using slurs, then just admit that. But don't try to pretend like it's not one. The fact that it's widespread and normalized doesn't make it not a slur, it just shows how deep sexism is still ingrained in our culture.
I would also like to add that "anyone can be called one" isn't really true either, because calling a man a bitch is different from calling a woman a bitch. When a woman is called that, it's because she was mean, voicing her opinion or saying no. When a man is called that, it means he is weak (men call each other a little bitch to mean coward) and they're comparing him to what they think a woman is, aka weak. It always mean woman, they just don't wanna admit it.
hi folks I’m scarfbeard manbun and this is my girlfriend septumpierce undercut and we’re queering heterosexuality by making a joint tinder account for threeways
EAT 3 YUMMY MEALS A DAY WITH SNACKS! WEAR COMFORTABLE CLOTHES! THROW OUT YOUR RAZORS AND MAKEUP! SPEND UR MONEY ON DEVELOPING SKILLS, READING BOOKS AND TRAVELLING!!! THIS IS FOR FEMINISM!!!
I can’t take credit for this, shared by a friend, they found it on twitter.
I sure as fuck hope so.
Just remember all the things we think like this about now that were considered normal or plausible not even that long ago: the Satanic panic, chicken pox parties, lobotomies, segregation, eugenics.
Just think about how many people, at the time, thought these things were correct. That these things were truth. Who were blithely unaware they were doing anything wrong. And now today we look back and say “what the fuck was wrong with people back then?”
just sucks that so much damage will be done in the mean time
A lesbian bar would fix me.
omg queen where is this bar 👀👀👀
location????? terf bar??
It’s fucking insane that women can’t even gather. We have to be underground, word of mouth, in the middle of the woods in tents, just to be allowed to speak freely. Doesn’t that feel crazy? Don’t get me wrong, I love being in the woods with women, but why must we be so hidden while men can shout and scream at the top of their lungs in every city across the US? Why is it SO disproportionate? All we are asking for is to be left alone but it requires so much obfuscation. Men have entire parades, women must whisper on secret channels and hide in the forest.
Being a GNC woman is funny because one half of the political spectrum is telling you “you’re a woman so you can’t wear masculine clothes” and the other half is telling you “you wear masculine clothes so you can’t be a woman”. There is no political persuasion wherein it is acceptable to just be a GNC woman
“The trouble is that, for women, being “nice” often translates into putting up with things we should never put up with. How many times has some creep sat uncomfortably close to me on the bus and stared me down, yet I’m too afraid to just get up and move, lest I offend him? We smile when we’re harassed on the street or hit on by jerks. We laugh at sexist jokes. We learn that when we have strong opinions, we’ll be called bitches and that if we get angry, we’ll be called hysterical. When we say what we want, we’re called pushy or aggressive. Part of learning “ladylike” behavior is about learning to smile politely when someone is being crude. Femininity has long been attached to passivity and to being docile. Men fight, women giggle and fume silently.”
— Women And Girls Don’t Need To Be Told To Be Nicer, Meghan Murphy (via lazypacific)
Honestly at this point who cares what they call you?
“what’s a female?” “what’s a male?” well, what does afab and amab mean? what’s the biological difference between a transman and a transwoman? who is “transmisogyny affected”, and who isnt? what’s the difference between the surgeries that transwomen get and the surgeries that transmen get? who can be a transman? who can be a transwoman, and who can’t?
stop acting stupid, you all already know the answer
