Some stuff based off an LoZ verse for my Shirasu Kinjou muse.
The snowlands were always below freezing; Far beyond Zora's domain, the ice that melts from Death Mountain's sister range, is what provides fresh, circulated water for the Zoras, who in turn supply it for the rest of Hyrule.
With the only entrances located in the heavens, or far below the surface, the Snowlands are isolated, and all but forgotten by their Hylian counterpart. The only ones who seem to retain knowledge of them, are the Gerudo, the Sheikah, and the odd Zora.
Within this cold mountain range, there lies a tribe of people, known to most simply as 'Snowlings', because of their wintery appearance, and frosty temperments. Their pale skin and white hair allow them to blend easily within the snow they call home, though their purple eyes ensure that they are not completely hidden.
Many a legend states that those who enter the Snowlands without permission of the Snowlings, will be plagued by disembodied eyes following them the duration of their stay.
The Snowlings are watched over by the spirits of the mountains, and of their ancient ones. They are 'governed' by a noble family, who are considered kings, queens, and so on & so forth, by their people, though they do the same work, alongside their duties as royalty.
Many times they have attempted to open trade between the Gerudo, Hylians, and others within Hyrule, but it has always ended in failure; Their allies were driven out of Frosthold and out of the Snowlands, or else they were attacked in the middle of their stay, by wraiths formed of mere snow and ice.
The curse of the Snowlands is a harsh one, and it's inhabitants fear for their lives.
