I love Lenalee a ton and really enjoy her design, but in the given time period of D. Gray Man (1851), she would be arrested for those Vatican-sanctioned thigh highs and miniskirts. On that note, I decided to see if I could design her a uniform that fits more with the historical fashions of the period. My main inspirations were typical daydresses of the 1840s, with their distinctive sloped shoulders and lower waists, though Lenalee's is a bodice over a wrap skirt and petticoats. The pants and skirt come from the uniforms of the Vivandière or cantinières, who were the wives of soldiers in the french army in roughly the same period. Given that all the uniforms are custom, I think Lenalee was allowed to go a bit ham.
TLDR: "Bye Johnny, I'm leaving for the mission!" "Not like that you aren't!" "Better?" "Yaas bitch slay!"
