If I lost a race and was then expected to be a backup dancer for the winner, I would detonate the bomb vest.
This is my OC, Umabomber, and she has a really good Skill that triggers when she doesn’t finish 1st.

my fav is the fact that the japanese kanji for "horse" is different
(art source for second pic)
My roommate and I have been playing the app game and have been ruminating on like, the implications of the rights and portrayals of horse girls (all of whom, in game, are high schoolers) given that they are all racers and we haven’t yet found a reference to a single “horse” who was ever NOT a racer (there are plenty with non-racing hobbies and even some with non-racing jobs — but they’re all “retired” racers.)
But Statue of Liberty being a horsegirl does raise some interesting questions and possibilities
So at the time I fight the knight I already have finish both chapter 3 and 4 including the fight with the unnamed old man Gerson, after failing to discover the hidden content on chapter 3. I did this in a second playthrough to have two main file saves, one without all the moss, eggs and SHADOWS CRYSTALS and one with all of them, mostly because not having that content unlock the moment before fighting the chapter Boss like in chapter 1, 2 was kind of dragging my game experience, I was walking on circles trying to get it all when in reality I couldn't and I would have to start a new game.
So, when I did all the hidden and got the shadow mantle I got to fight the knight, I really enjoyed how hard it was, it really felt like a final boss you encounter in the middle of the game (which is basically it), but because I did this on a second playthrough I thought the fight would be an endurance battle, were the boss keeps throwing new attacks I have to survive until something happens, which I thought was going to be the arrival of Undine, because at the end of chapter 3 she appears just before the knight gets her, so it just make sense to me, but after around my 50th attempt I was really starting to get really mad because the battle was genuinely getting way to long, so I reluctantly search a guide to see how much would it take, and then with a bit of research I fount out that the win condition was actually getting the boss to 80% of its total life.
During the whole battle I didn't attack, only defend, because I was doing really low damage, and in every single other instance in the game when you fight a really hard boss it usually ends with the boss this one just gets its life up, and I was already really struggling, I had all my revive mints, the revive dust, an inventory full of deluxe dinners, and yet it just felt impossible, and then with the change of win condition it just felt even worse, the only descent amount of damage I could deal was with Susie rude buster, and with Kris attack only when Susie and Ralsei were down for some reason, but Susie and and Ralsei basically die with a -999 health if you are touch by any of the knight's attack, and without them I didn't have any way of sustain to give Kris which if didn't use its turn to attack only would drag the battle for even longer...
At the end I give up, I was tired I was mad, I just wanted to see what changes it would have in the story, (other reason I was really mad it was because apparently if you get the shadow mantle before the egg then you can't get the egg anymore because the screen for the egg puzzle is turn off for some ungod reason, and it just happens I commit the sin of saving after beating the shadow mantle boss) so I just downloaded cheat engine and did the fight with a speed hack, reducing the knight attack speed to around 50%, 60%, and then use rude buster, I defeated the knight after like 3 attempts I reach the win condition of get the knight to 80% HP and then the cutscene appear, and I'm not joking, its the fucking same ending as when the you are immediately defeated by the knight in the normal ending, the only thing that changes is the fact that it drops the shadow crystal, but apart from that its the same fucking cutscene, nothing changes, after hours battling the knight nothing changes.
I doubt it would happen but I really wish this battle is fixed, which what I propose is just to do it an endurance battle at the start, like, until the "multiple red slashed where you have to do a circle around to not die", the next attack should be something impossible to dodge, but then have Undine appear, and the turn Kris soul into a color, which I think what could fit is a different kind of shield than the one the unnamed old man Gerson gives you. Something like where at the cost of TP you can block an attack, so the player needs to defend constantly to generate TP and then differentiate the attacks it can dodge and the one it cannot, that meanwhile we have undine is attacking, and then we play what happens normally, the knight drops the shadow crystal and then it obliterates us. This keeps the internal consistence with the rest of difficult bosses and it gives you the reward of fighting side at side with Undine,
Anyway, too much text, any thoughts in my opinion?

Man I know that elder scrolls is a stupid series and all that but I really think they did concepts like orcs and dark elves mostly correct. More correct than a lot of franchises I’ve seen anyways.
I think dnd took until like this year to properly update drow and orcs or something? Like fantasy as a whole has a hard time shaking off this idea of evil races.
The elder scrolls approach to these guys from the beginning though has been that their cultures are just really different from the other cultures around them.
Like you can hang out in orc strongholds in Skyrim and spend the whole game around dark elves in Morrowind and they’re just regular people that have kind of extreme cultural norms. Dark elves are kind of rude to you when they first meet you but like in the way certain cultures are rude to outsiders at first until they get to know them. Orcs are rough around the edges but they’re smart and have a proud culture and if you can hold your own in a fight they’ll respect you.
And you see these people can blend pretty well into other societies. They join faiths their ancestors didn’t practice, they have jobs that people of their race wouldn’t stereotypically have, they have opinions about what other people assume about them, they have their own wrong assumptions about other cultures.
There’s this understanding somewhere in these games that people are shaped by their cultures but you also can’t predict how an individual will behave based on the culture that they came from. And I like that.
Listen, I love the elder scrolls. It is deep and wide and beautiful. It is also filled with cheese though.
TES worldbuilding does something I haven't really seen any other fantasy universe do, it foregoes a clear cut and thoroughly explained cosmology in favor of actually different religious interpretations of its universe. There's a basic outline to be gleamed from the overlap between the various theologies, but there's no definitive answer to a lot of questions.
Are Masser and Secunda normal moons? Are they holes in reality through which the light of Aetherius shines? Are they the sundered corpse of the demiurge? Are they normal moons but there's a secret third moon that only comes out during a double eclipse and *that* one is Lorkhan's body? They fought a war about this.
I think the fact that utter silliness and ridiculous notions can coexist with conplex ideological flaws and layers upon layers of behavioural patterns and anomalies makes of TES something far from simply realistic or simply stupid. It is the most realistic exploration of the paradoxes of our reality without directly quoting them. A potential vast source to learn, without the consequences of learning all of this in the real world.
Elder Scrolls is one of the best fantasy settings I've ever experienced to be completely honest, to the point where a lot of other fantasy settings feel like a pale imitation. That and I initially got the games because you could play as anthropomorphic cats or lizards and that alone is totally something I love. Normally Beastfolk are not playable and depicted as a enemy, but Elder Scrolls doesn't do that, they just go and have their beastfolk as actual normal people. As a furry, its refreshing and awesome really, The Elder Scrolls handles non-human races the best out of any fantasy setting I have ever seen.
I think it says a lot that my biggest gripe about Elder Scrolls as a series is that the incredible lore and worldbuilding is all too often not really reflected by the gameplay proper. Like, you read all the in-game books and Obscure Texts and so on and you get this stunning image painted of an extremely unique and fleshed out fantasy world with insanely cool ideas but than you play the games and outside of Morrowind and Redguard you really won't really see any of that unique lore played out properly.
Pelinal Whitestrake is - according to every bit of lore about him - a gay time-traveling war robot who hates elves to the point of psychosis and hangs out with a winged man-bull. That's the hypest shit! But than you see him actually come up in Oblivion and he's portrayed as just a generic heroic knight with nothing especially weird about him.
Notoriously, in every entry prior to Oblivion, Cyrodil was described and depicted as a Meso/South American-influenced dense jungle land. That's so cool and Mesoamerica/South America influences are woefully underdone in fantasy. But than you actually go to the place in Oblivion and Bethesda deliberately dumbed it down into a hyper-generic medieval Europe fairy tale setting.
The list goes on. It's a shame because the times where the weird lore actually makes it into the games proper (Morrowind, Redguard, Shivering Isles, parts of Skyrim and ESO, etc.) are always REALLY awesome and usually the most beloved parts of the series, far moreso than the neutered stuff. And, like, some of it IS deliberate as part of the aforementioned realistically messy worldbuilding, that whole idea that many of the books contained biased or incorrect information, and that's fine. But not when it means that basically everything cool and unique about the setting gets dismissed as transcription errors.
Oh yeah that's a understandable critique of the games, that past Morrowind the games don't really engage with the weird lore.
Personally it doesn't bother me too much, but that's because I kind of like the generic European fantasy vibe oblivion has going for it (Skyrim's Viking aesthetic doesn't really hit the same for me), I love reading the lore texts occasionally though. My favorites are the books you need to collect for the 'find out what happened to the Dwemer quest' in Morrowind, then its Breathing Water, and other books that give glimpses into whatever TES's magic system is like outside of gameplay.

EDIT: i removed the “trump refused to swear on the bible” point because it was being taken as me being an offended christian. i’m not christian, im agnostic. the reason i included it in the first place is because he’s the first president in history to ever refuse to swear on ANYTHING. meanwhile his “conservative christian” followers had no issue with this, and decided to continue to scramble for excuses instead of admitting he may not be as religious as he claims he is. i figured taking that point out entirely is probably better than filling this with an explanation in the middle of the other important issues.

If you can donate to Wikipedia to keep it out of Musk's filthy, blood-stained hands, please do.
