i'm making it my personal headcanon that the reason the quests have so much lore discrepancy between them is because MC hasn't been formally trained with the Moon Circle, so sometimes visions of alternate pasts and futures can show up. there's way more inconsistencies in the older quests not because the writing isn't updated, but because MC isn't as used to having soul rider abilities so it slips through the cracks more often

it explains why MC can see Anne at events even if you haven't rescued her because they're glimpsing into the future where she's safe/a past where she wasn't trapped. they freak out a little bit because they're like um hey guys isn't that the missing girl we're looking for?? and Lisa and Alex are all 'no? what are you talking about' but i bet Linda gets it. i bet she nods a little sadly because she gets dreams sometimes where everything is normal and they can just be friends who hang out for fun instead of for saving the world. and when lisa and anne were missing sometimes it was the only thing that helped her breathe because she had the knowledge that somewhere out there her friends were safe and happy. in this essay i will

i do wonder if theres any significance in mc not seeing anything through the pool of pandemonium, even though we were forced to pick an answer it feels weird they made it clear we didn't see anything afterward? (within the actual water not whatever the apparition was)

One of the 'game logic' things in SSO that I like to believe is just normal in Jorvik, is naturally intelligent animals.

If a foreigner and a jorvikian walk a dog and squirrel runs in front of them causing the dog to go berserk. The jorvikian will just go "Hey squirrel, dont run infront of dogs like that. This dog like to hunt small creatures. I dont want you get hurt. Just be careful in the future, ok?"

The squirrel turnes around, look at them and gives a thumbs up. And the just runs off again. Leaving a very confused foreigner.

Or a jorvikian competes in a horse show out of country. And they would talk to their horse about the plan and the horse responds with huffs and nods.

Or the riders straight up shows the horse a map and the horse seem to actually study it.

Everyone else in the competition are just confused as fuck.

It is canon that Jorvik has some of the best riders in the world.

Most animals doesnt have human like intelligent, but understand some simple words or understand common human behavior and body language.

But the idea that jorvikian squirrel of all animals are one of the most intelligent animals out there would be hilarious.

Casual reminder in these trying times that sse does nothing *for* accessibility. Not even the removal of the horse slowing down feature was for accessibility. That was in preparation for SSO mobile, because tapping that button constantly would limit your view of the screen, not to help people with disabilities and chronic pains. Every change in HUD graphics has been criticized by people who are visually impaired, first the coin redesigns and now the UI. they removed a disabled character’s disability to make her skinny and fit because god forbid old people use canes. Sse said “feminism is the only fight we care about” and by god they meant it
