Markus understood where he was coming from. He did honestly. He just didn’t feel the same way. “Hurting them, getting revenge won’t do more then just make us the same. I’m not about to stoop to their level. It takes greater strength and greater courage to be kind.” 

Of course he’d never force anyone to follow him. He didn’t free them only to make androids do his own bidding. If they want to stay and follow him. Then they can. That’s up to them. “Existing is hard, but so is everything else that’s worth it. You just have to find what makes it worth it to you.”

“Well. Maybe I’m weak then! I wasn’t programmed for this bullshit, but to imitate the emotions and actions of my human predecessor.”, he raised his voice in trustration and let his hands run through his hair, trying desperately to calm down, since his stresslevel spiked up.

 “It always fet weird. Sometimes I don’t even know what are actually MY emotions and what not. I just wish... 

               I wish I would have never existed in the first place.”

Jericho. He sure had imagined it ... well. Different. But now that he was here, if seemed fair to introduce himself and tak to some people. After a couple of interactions, all androids seemed to push him in direction of their leader, a so called Markus and an RK unit. 

Of course. Who else, if not the newest, most advanced model could have come up with this. 

Kaleb already felt slightly irritated and that didn’t changed as he saw the revolution leader sitting there, looking kinda desperate and not as heroic as he had imagined him at all. 

“You are Markus?” , he asked the other android, with a tone that revealed his disbelieve. He didn’t knew what exactly he had expected. Maybe someone who represented more self-confidence. 

“I’m Kaleb. Just arrived and talked to some of the other androids.” He stepped closer to put a hand on the other mans shouler. “Look kid. They are all looking up to you for some reason. Don’t let yourself hang like this. You are doing great enough. Only heard good things.”

“Markus. I appreciate your effort to keeps things chill. But I don’t think we ever can live in peace with those monsters. Look what they have done to our people. We are worth nothing to them!”, Brandon resisted to accept the concept of a peceful protest. He was on hundred percent on North’s side. Because, he too, wanted to see blood, even though he never had it as bad as many of his brothers and sisters. 

“A lot of us can’t just forgive them.” He stopped, trying to take a deep beath, as if it was necessarry to calm him down, when in reality, it did nothing to cool his systems. “You know.... even existing is painful enough. The only way it could satisfy me now, is if I can take revenge.”

Christin looked up at the android, giving off a fake and friendly smile. “Wonderful to meet you Mason. But I guess I could use a more friendly companion.” She looked over at Valerie with a small smirk before looking back at Mason. “I’m surprised you’re rather excited about this. Most androids either do not care, or dread the moment to go to a case.” Her voice had a hint to curiosity to it as she spoke, rather softly of course. Despite her cold and distant appearance she tried really hard to be friendly to those around her. She looked at the coffee a bit confused, then realized why it was there. He was trying rather hard to be good with her.

Mason tried to be subtle about analyzing her very gestures, even though the little, small ones. That’s why he followed her gaze shortly to the other android and then back at her. “I might don’t be your partner of choice, but I sure will be helpful non the less. Also I’m always greatful to do what I was constructed for. I do love my job, Miss Wilcox.”

Being on prtroul with his old partner again felt good. Not so good did it felt to be called to a protest against androids. These were still a thing, even though his people now got equal human rights. 

Or maybe it was especially because of that. 

Two police cars rolled up, and at least his partner were reasonable enough to let him stay back. „Just... secure the area, alright?“, he got his order which he followed thankfully. 

As he was about to secure the area around the protest, he almost stumbled over a young women and her dog. “Pardon, madam. Would you be so kind to leave this area. We don’t want civilians to get hurt during the follwoing actions of the athorithies against those protester.”

      Now, that androids hat gained their rights, Mason was  glad to be back at the police station. Some still were uncomfortable around him, but the friendly PC500 tried not to care that much about it. 

      The only thing that really did bother him was, that his former partner would retire and therfor wouldn't work together with him any longer. This led to him getting asigned to another detective and he was delightfully surprised when he heard who it would be. 

      „Detective Rollins. Good morning. Since my former partner retired, I got assigned to be your new assistant from now on.“, he started chatting, maybe a bit too happy about it, since Jake Rollins was known to be very close with Detective Gavin Reed, who was probably the most unliked Detective on the dpd and that not only amng the androids. 

       „I hope you don't mind an android as partner because I'm really looking forward to work with you.“

        It was ridiculous. Kaled was almost sure, it wouldn’t change anything at all. But still, here he was, sitting at the DBD to give his statement against the modder that violated him, Beat.
