tomorrow and tomorrow and tomorrow... (may all of the dark lost inside you find light again)
So I was going through a book on impressionist painters recently, and I was looking through paintings by Renoir ( after playing Clair Obscur, I got curious) and I came across: the luncheon of the boating party.
What stuck out to me was this lovely little caption. About the other painter Gustave Caillbotte. Who was another impressionist painter and friends with Renoir.
I know we all assumed that Gustave in the game was named after Gustave Effiel. But the more I read up on Caillbotte, I feel like there could be a compelling case for this impressionist painter Gustave could be based on.
Things about his life that stuck out to me from his wiki:
Was good friends with Renoir and a bunch of other impressionists. So much so that he bequeathed paintings to him after her passed away.
Philanthropist- funded exhibitions ect.
Dude was a lawyer, an engineer, and was drafted to fight in the Franco-prussian war ( where he started painting)
Was a prolific gardener, and had an obsession with boats, and collected stamps
Died at the age of 45.
Maybe I pulled my tin foil hat on a little too tight but hey, you never know lol.

In any tomato based sauce, vodka, or any strong alcohol doesn't make the dish taste more like alcohol, it releases alcohol soluble elements from the tomato itself, making it taste sweeter, richer and more tomato than even just tomatoes themselves, this adds acidity, which is often tempered by the addition of dairy (usually heavy cream) a la vodka is not a delicate sauce, but any means, it's made with a full intention of every major ingredient hitting well above it's weight. And if you want it even better, try using a good botanical gin or a pepper vodka for even more intensity.
people really just walk into horror movies and expect them not to deal with uncomfortable things despite the genre being dedicated to discomfort.
i saw so many people complain that lisa frankenstein, a movie where one of the leads is famously a rotting corpse, was too gross for them. when i walked out of nosferatu, i heard people say that the nudity was uncalled for... in a vampire film. nudity? in MY gothic horror?! unheard of!
a LOT of people really need to accept that maybe some genres just aren't to their taste, idk. not every movie needs to be cookie-cutter clean. sexuality is a staple of gothic horror, if not the wider genre horror in General. you don't need to enjoy it, but it doesn't make these things uncalled for.
Lowkey fascinated (positive) with your turn of phrase here. "Loadbearing taboo." I am rotating it in my mind

CRYING at Allura just blatantly volunteering the Nein to go fight the Weave Mind with no buy-in. That's so on brand for the Nein. (Whenever they apparently GET BACK IN ONE PIECE??? FROM WHERE, BABE???)
I'm still laughing about this. Vex and Keyleth are well within their right to speak for Vox Machina. They all assure the Hells that they have until they get to the larger group to back out, but they do give them the out. Meanwhile the Nein are who fucking knows where, having a terrible time, absolutely not privy to this war council, and are getting forcibly drafted into the next mission without any input on their part.
It's HILARIOUS. It's par for the course. Truly the Nein have the most thankless role in the Exandrian adventuring ecosystem. They probably love it because their favored terrain is "in your fucking walls" and also hate it because they love to gripe, but they're mostly mad they weren't already there waiting for someone to ask. Regardless, they absolutely cannot evade their role. It is their gift and curse. It's the BEST.
