daragh was born in dublin to a strict old irish catholic family. they regularly went to mass when they were younger and warned of all the chaos in the world.. so.. so some priest insisted. 

when daragh was eighteen, they were caught on the street corner, kissing their ‘best friend’. when their family found out, they flipped.. and before they could do anything, daragh ran away. a couple of days after their nineteenth birthday, they joined the irish army. 

daragh served in the army for fourteen years as a bombs and explosives specialist, mainly disarming roadside IED’s. but during a routine sweep, their team was ambushed and in a scurry to safety, daragh set off an unmarked IED. this resulted in the loss of their lower left leg. 

daragh was lost. honourably discharged but the medals didn’t take away the physical, mental and emotional pain they endured and continued to endure. 

daragh attented meetings for ex army members back in ireland, one soldier explaining how he just picked up his life and moved away for a while. so.. with no family to keep them in ireland, daragh fled too. to sprigg. 

they’ve been here two years, moving over with nothing but one dufflebag and their beloved military dog, duke, of whom they had trained since he was just a pup. 

daragh has been the deputy sheriff the last two years and also attends group therapy sessions at night time to try and combat their ptsd.
