Okay you jerks you're gonna listen to me now because I just logged in for this. I know I barely have followers and most of you won't necessarily know Becks, but you gotta listen anyway, maybe someone cool will show this around.

Becks is my best friend in real life. I can't see her very often anymore and that hurts me, especially because that means I can't hug her. She's highly depressive and suicidal, yet I've never seen her putting herself above someone else. She can literally be on the edge of killing herself and she will still listen to your tiny pathetic problems.

She eats herself up for people, offers them her heart and her soul and dies a bit more to make others feel better. You know what she gets in return? Shit. People cut her out of her life, people replace her, people tell others shit about her, people are pushing her further into that black hole that her life is.

She's the most awesome and loving person I know, and if you don't go and send her a few nice words, I'm gonna haunt your sorry asses.

Cuthbert Allgood had always been a romantic guy. Even if it didn’t seem through all his jokes sometimes, he had quite a heart for those things. And why wouldn’t he? The young ladies in Gilead that just started on getting interested in guys talked about him a lot, he knew that and grinned brightly whenever he approached them. He had broken more hearts - not on purpose, never on purpose - to the age of fourteen than most did in their whole life. 

Alain always told him to cut it, he didn’t know just what effect he had, but the dark haired just grinned at him and waved him off.

So the whole concept of soul mates fascinated him, and actually, his clock didn’t read that many years after all.

And then the tet was forced to go to Hambry, and that pretty much fell together with his clock’s countdown. Roland’s had one that was a bit shorter than his, and when he returned to their camp the evening before they would enter the town, he grinned at his friend. 

“‘s zero, right? You gotta tell me all about them. Come on. Is it a girl? I was always a bit envious I wasn’t your mate, you know that. We’re just conneeeected.” 

But Roland shushed him, and didn’t answer him any questions, so he had to deal with it.

And they were invited the next day, not as Cuthbert Allgood but as Arthur Heath, and under that name, he met her.

Susan Delgado.

His clock counted down to zero.

And how would he know that sometimes, destiny wasn’t all that nice to you? That it wasn’t always mutual? Because Roland and Susan were meant together, and he fell in love with the girl of his best friend.

And he hated himself for it.

This reaction to him was a new one, and he’s not entirely sure what to make out of it. In fact, he didn’t know people reacted to another person like this at all, and it irritated the hell out of him.

He had no idea what’s up with this girl, but he could play along if that was what she wanted.

"I doubt so, my dear. The place I come from is a very strange one, and I doubt many that go from there end up here", he answered her with a light chuckle. "Besides. Eddie Dean."

[She didn't expect him to have the same feelings she had - he was human what did he know about other worlds and other lives - but she still found herself a bit disappointed by him being so utterly confused, not aware of this connection, not aware that he could be the key to who she was - ]

"A place, so far nobody here would be able to find it, Eddie? Would believe in it's existence? A place full of distorted dreams? The impossible world?"

[What was the worst that could happen - he thinking she was insane? She didn't care.]

He didn’t expect being spoken to, and therefore it takes him a moment until he realizes the girl is talking to him, so he blinks up, beams at her with a bright smile.

"Is it that obvious? Damn, I tried so hard to fulfill every single cliche I could find. Obviously that is not enough."

A small frown appeared on his forehead. “Why?”

[She is excited - more than that, she is in awe. Something she doesn't remember feeling in a long time. Thaumiel looks at him as if he is the newest world wonder, and to her, he is.]

[He is something long forgotten, so familiar to her soul it hurts, and she has the feel she knows him for so long. She has the feel that they do not only come from the same place - but that they knew each other.]

[For a moment, a single image of her old life flames up, the image of a smiling boy, much like the smile he had for a moment. Darker hair, another eye color, but - ]

[ - it leaves her before she could made the connection.]

"I'm not either. Thought you might be from the same place. Something about you reminds me of home."

[There is something about humans that will always be strange to her, unfamiliar. Despite the fact that long ago, she had been a human being herself, she just couldn't work out what it was that distracted her so much.]

[Until, at least, she saw him, and something about him told her everything.]

[He was human - as much as either of them - but he was not like them. He had a smell on him, something she recognized as something she had missed deeply in her heart, but that she didn't know she missed before.]

[He smelled like another world, like home.]
