I've recently discovered two benefits that I can use for coconut oil, more specifically the LouAna brand. I know there are many more ways to use it, but I am just going to discuss two of the ways. First, before bed, use it on your face. Pin back long hair, and let in set for 30 minutes. Rinse with soap and warm water. Yes, my face is actually softer! Another use is if your pet has a skin yeast condition (no, not down there). Give your furbaby one teaspoon per ten pounds a day. Extra-virgin is the better version, but in a small town like I live in, you take what you can get. It helps quite a bit. Plus, an after rinse of diluted apple cider vinegar after a bath just adds an added advantage, but we'll get into that another time. Now, here are some other ways coconut oil can help, but I have not tried them as of yet: helps with dandruff, aids in weight loss by reducing hunger (I need to try this!), kills some harmful microorganisms, as well as using instead of frying things such as eggs fries, and the like (no deep frying please).

My aunt has tumors in her brain, lymph nodes, and a lung. She's in her early 60s; still too young for this. She's having brain surgery on Tuesday to remove the outside brain tumor. It's possibly cancer that has spread as cancer runs in the family. If you pray, please pray for Phillis K. If you don't pray, good vibes and positive thought are appreciated too!

Honestly has been in a hiatus for a bit, but I’m back! Please excuse the interruption. Today, I am happily satisfied with L'Oreal’s Feria Absolute Platinum in Extreme Platinum. It didn’t fry my hair as some blonde colors happen to do to all of us blondes. I needed 2 boxes as my hair has grown and is really thick. My natural color is a boring medium brown shade. I had 2 inches of roots to cover up! I left the color on my roots for 30 minutes, and put the remaining dye on for 20 additional minutes, and voila! Gorgeous blonde color! C'mon, you know you want to try it too! On another note, I've ordered some e.l.f. products, so you know I'll be back...😉

Depression and the holidays

I know there are some of us who get depressed around the holidays. We can't help; it happens. Maybe a loved one is gone. You lost/someone stole your money. You remember bad/sad memories. You had to put your pet to sleep. There's a slew of possibilities. Remember, November-January is only 3 months. You can get through it. There are people you can talk to: friends, family, a doctor, a preacher, heck, I'll even talk to you. The holidays have been depressing to me for years. I trudge through it somehow. This year is bad. I lost one of my favorite aunts. I was there when she passed. Her son decided on no funeral/memorial service. There's no resting place as he decided to keep her ashes. Two days later, I had to put my beloved 12 year old chihuahua to sleep. I sang to her and held her as she fell asleep before the other shot. There are numbers to call if you are suicidal too. Various numbers. One is : 1-800-273-8255. Remember, we can get through the holidays.

Setting: Cool, but not cold Time: Afternoon Ah, sitting here sipping on a McDonald's Peppermint Hot Chocolate. It's very hot, so I add a few ice cubes. Stir, and...perfection! The aroma of hot chocolate and peppermint waft under my nose. I take a sip, and it's yummy cocoa with a undertone of peppermint. Luckily, not the peppermints some Grandmas carry. I'm not a peppermint kind of person, but this is nice. Needs a li'l bit of sugar, but it's quite nice.

7 hearts for this little goodie! L'Oreal isn’t just hair products anymore! Their Voluminous False Fiber Lashes mascara is pretty sweet!! And I only have ONE coat of mascara on. Imagine how awesome it would look with an eyelash curler and two coats😮 But I just wanted to show y'all what only one coat could do. It adds length and volume. And Happy Early Halloween!!

Imagine living in a place where women are treated as objects and possessions. You have no say in anything. Keep that in mind. Meet Meryem, a 15 year old girl who lives in Turkey. Meryem has been basically blacklisted and forced to live in a place where not even dogs sleep. It's hot; she's hungry. There is talk of her being shamed into killing herself, and even having a male family member kill her because of "what she has done". What exactly did Meryem do to deserve such punishment? She was raped by her uncle! This book goes into detail about what happens to this poor soul after her rape. Does she live? Read to find out! I give this book a 6 out of 10. It's enough to keep you going.

My very picky 12 year old Chihuahua LOVES these treats! They are only $1 at the dollar stores. They are good for treats, as well as sneaking pills in when medication is needed. Canine Carry Outs have protein, fat, fiber, and calcium for your furbaby. Zelda adores the beef flavor, and is excited to get a special treat every day.

Stupidity

In a west Texas town, employees in a medium-sized warehouse noticed the smell of gas. Sensibly, management evacuated the building, extinguishing all potential sources of ignition–lights, power, etc. After the building had been evacuated, two technicians from the gas company were dispatched. Upon entering the building, they found they had difficulty navigating in the dark. To their frustration, none of the lights worked. Witnesses later described the scene of one of the technicians reaching into his pocket and retrieving an object that resembled a lighter. Upon operation of the lighter-like object, the gas in the warehouse exploded, sending pieces of it up to three miles away. Nothing was found of the technicians, but the lighter was virtually untouched by the explosion. The technician that was suspected of causing the explosion had never been thought of as bright by his peers.

Tater went over the Rainbow Bridge this morning. Someone poisoned her early this morning. By the time I got to her, nothing could be done. I tried to hold her in my arms, but she cried; she was in such pain. Her 7 week old babies stayed nearby. Baby Pollux guarded her as she slipped away. What did Tater ever do to anyone but love them? She rarely left the yard. I love and miss you, girl💔
