Here's the thing I've been ruminating on... Whether the Duffers were queer baiting or are a bit homophobic or scared to actually make any characters queer bc the straight audience is the important audience or whatever-- The cast, tho, aren't. I think possibly what they've been hinting at or alluding to is that whether they were supposed to or not... They were playing their character that way. Like Maya and Natalia were leaning into the chemistry and like the idea of ronance. Like Joseph making Eddie flirty with Steve and Keery being on board with it. Or Noah and Finn do think Will and Mike like each other. And yeah, you could say it's another form of queer baiting but I see it more as the Duffers aren't going to make it canon but the actors actually know what people want and give us what they can. Does that make sense?

I could be way off with this but... It's just food for thought and all that.

Ok, I realize that trying to think too logically about the plots of Supernatural is pointless and you’ll just end up hurting your brain BUT

Something I have NEVER understood is how the demon blood works. Why is it that when Azazel bleeds into the special kids mouths it fundamentally changes them, giving them access to powers years down the line, staying in their system for forever apparently, but when Sam drinks demon blood in later seasons it’s like a temporary thing and he has to constantly be drinking more to keep his powers at full strength like ??? Why didn’t the blood Azazel gave them as babies just loose it’s potency? Why did his blood affect them differently the blood Sam drinks later??

Well think of it like this, they do make it clear that there is a point of no return when he’s chugging it as an adult. It’s said by Castiel, I think Ruby, and at one point Sam himself, that he can/did get to the point where he’d drink so much it was a permanent change. So if a 200+ lb 6′ 5″ man needs as much black eye rank demon blood as Sam drank to kill Lilith, and house Satan, (which I think was shown to be four or five gallons from 0 on board to full change) Then maybe as a tiny 6 month old baby only needs a few ounces of Prince of Hell (yellow eyed rank demon) to affect a permanent change. 

If you consider that, then Sam was changed into a supernatural entity the night he turned 6 months old, and then changed into a more powerful entity the day he drank enough to kill Lilith.

Then the deus ex machina of clearing him of his “addiction” happened. They never actually say the bloods’ potential effects on him are gone, god or whatever (we know it was chuck now, but at the time that was just a best guess) removed the addiction and symptoms of withdrawal.

The creature he first became, with the ability to gain a strengthening effect to his powers from the demon blood was not removed from him, because Famine was able to trigger them, and drinking blood to take in Lucifer triggered them again.

And much later, we see that Sam has a LOT of ease with magic spells and Lucifer is still able to reach out to him from the cage, after the darkness comes, with visions. Not to mention the comics and anime make it clear there were some instances of demonic powers before the TV show picks up the narrative. So I think he has a base line set of “powers” from the initial change. Adding Black Eyed ranks of blood just amplifies it and makes him stronger all around.

So I think Azazel being a prince of hell, and giving Baby Sam that much of that rank of Demon Blood did change him into a supernatural creature, which he still is.

I think his decision to not use, hone or practice those particular skills is just that; a decision. He’s terrified of using them because of what it means about who he is. He makes that decision consciously and everyday.

Also I am pretty sure any time Dean is in peril, he makes that hard decision.

 He could use them to save Dean, but then he would lose Dean because he used them. Think about that moral dilemma every time Sam looks lost or stuck when something is threatening Dean.
