you can't tell me dean and cas have never hold hands, picture them late at night driving back to the bunker after a difficult hunt, sam snoring in the back, dean so tense he is about to snap the wheel in two and castiel deciding that his words might not be enough to help dean, because half of the time he doesn't know what is the right thing to say, so he simply, and awkwardly, reaches for one of dean's hands, tangles their fingers together as he moves it away from the wheel, rests their joined hands on the space between them on the seat and as first dean is so shocked he forgets why he was tense in the first place and then he actually starts relaxing at the quiet show of support and they don't look at each other or ever talk about it after they reach the bunker and cas lets go of dean's hand
