Apart from federal regulations, some states require their intrastate commercial motor vehicle registrants to obtain a USDOT Number. As of Feb 2017 the 32 states which require DOT #âs are:
Alaska â DOT # required for CMV 10,001 GVW or more. Alaska DOT 907-365-1210
Alabama â DOT # required for CMV 26,001 GVW or more Alabama DOT 334-242-2999
Arizona â DOT # required for CMV
