Hi everyone, long time no see! so for today I will be reviewing the Giambattista Valli Couture 2014 Show!

So first I want to start by how beautiful this collection was! It reminded me of the old days of couture when every piece had it's own story and it all magically came together in the show. The designer himself has stated that his inspiration came from flowers, not something new but he also added that he wanted to create a winter garden in which he did.

The runway was very simple with the marble white statues with flowers which gave the room a very romantic, iconic garden scene which set the stage for the collection adorned with beautiful floral designs. The images I have selected are pieces I believe were some of the strongest, from an aesthetic viewpoint as well as cut and originality.

I love the use of volume in this collection, to me it brings more life to the collection and by doing so gives the audience a more three dimensional viewpoint on the clothing, and every seam was tailored to perfection. I mean the high low high waisted skirt with it's endless amount of volume to me was one of the strongest pieces, with it's stark white brightness and by edging it out with the stripy black heels, gives more variety to the dress than just being pretty.

Another highlight of the show? The finale yellow gown which Du Juan rocked, her chic edgy vibe mixed with this simply breathtaking piece was the perfect ending to the collection, with it's bow draping and volume, no wonder Giambattista Valli is on top. All I say is, well done!

Okay so this here is a little different, I've been doing some research on my studio class lately and stumbled upon Nan Goldin, a photographer who takes beautiful real life shots, she exposes true sexuality and does justice to the drag queen community, capturing the people behind the makeup and not just the persona you see on stage. 

So here's to Nan Goldin, for showing the world another side to the world around us!
