Exquisite Oil Flower Paintings by Jan Ironside
American artist Jan Ironside’s signature impasto technique is immediately recognizable in her flower portraits. With the use of vibrant and complimentary colors, Ironside uses her palette knife to create texture and a mesmerizing 3D quality to each piece. By thickly layering oil paint and using different shades of light and dark, the artist is able to create dimension on a flat surface to an extremely delicate and dainty subject.
A favorite muse in art, flowers are usually depicted in soft and subtle colors with an ethereal sensibility. Ironside challenges the traditional standards of beauty in artistry and provides one of the most beautiful figures on Earth a source of density, strength, durability and vitality with thick layers of oil paint on the canvas.
Armed with her palette knife, Ironside is able to depict the most stunning flowers, including daisies, peonies, sunflowers, and hydrangeas among other favorites. Ironside masterfully captures the quality and essence of each flower. Tulips are given a soft lavender color, which evokes their grace and gentle nature, whereas the lush presence of peonies, a favorite of many, is portrayed in a bright pink hue, the color of femininity and beauty.
Outstandingly radiant, the shapely illustrations are dazzling creations composed in a 113-year-old studio in the historic district of a small southern town in Arkansas. You can find her entire collection in her Etsy shop.

funny the way memory works, the things you desperately want to remember, you can’t. And the things you want to forget you can’t. Nobodies memory is perfect or complete - we feel like we are constantly missing pieces, trying to feel whole again.

Sometimes you meet incredible people and they are so much to you and you are so much to them; and it can be so sincere and beautiful. & temporary; that doesn’t mean it was never real, it was never a truth; it just means they came in to your life for a purpose and maybe you don’t know what that purpose is but I’m sure it’s something along the lines of: everything & everyone and all moments, as beautiful as they can be, are temporary. Live life without expectation; live in the moment and appreciate it all as it is.

Artist Holly Fox Uses Cookies as a Canvas to Compose Adorable Illustrations
American artist Holly Fox creates eccentric and adorable illustrations on delicious homemade cookies, which were created using a variety of eccentric cookie cutters. A former graphic designer with a knack for color composition and quirky designs, Fox started to bake cookies on a whim five years ago.
An expert at naming colors and choosing fonts in the graphic design realm, Fox implemented her artistic skills into mixing vibrant and playful hues; each piece contains a stunning, custom color. Each hue resembles the colors in a children’s toy, storybook or cartoon. They are tender and happy reminders of childhood and fun, which is always associated with eating cookies with milk.
An avid lover of Pantone, the artist also created a collection of Pantone swatches in the form of cookies.
In addition to her light-hearted and whimsical designs, she creates an array of batches which depict an artist’s paint palette, snowflakes, ice-cream cones, and adorable bitten watermelons, which match her fun-loving personality. You can find her entire collection in her Etsy shop.
