The baby never openly identified their gender. It's just the gynecologist observing the baby's genitals and chromosomes and arbitarily deciding which gender the baby must be, and the parents parroting the doctor's words. Isn't this the absolute terfy movement to decide one's gender based on their biology? Why are you tras not being angry enough at this?

Of course all of this is pure bullshit. Sex is a physical and biological reality, completely value neutral. Gender is a societal idea of how men should be like this and women should be like that. Gender is the product of sexism and something we should abolish. It worries me deeply that these days people are using the term 'gender' in the place where the term 'sex' should be used because they are too contaminated by the gender cult and afraid of stating sex is real.
I've never seen anybody bully and terrorize someone over it, to be clear, but I have definitely seen people say gender reveal parties are "problematic" for the exact reasons you just said. No, I'm not kidding.

Me: I don't, personally, really like makeup. I don't, personally, like wearing it because it feels uncomfortable to me. In the past, I felt societal pressure to wear it at school and work, and I wish it didn't feel like a requirement to be treated normally as a person and a professional. I've noticed I actually have lower self-esteem and more self-image issues when I wear it regularly, so I stopped wearing it. I am, personally, happier without it :)

Also, being born gay has been a major point of pain for gay people across history who felt they were born wrong. Who wished they could've just been "normal" but had to feel different from others from early childhood. People who had to scheme their ways out of marrying and having kids, people (mostly lesbians) who were just married off against their will.
It may have become "politically convenient" to tell straight people it wasn't a choice we were making and we were just born gay, but it wasn't convenient in any way at any point before that to feel like you were born wrong and dread the entire life that was set up for you from birth.
This... are you serious? I'm really confused. You've never been alone on an elevator with a man you didn't know before? That's not like, and uncommon experience, is it? I truly don't understand. Is this something that most women try to avoid? I have never felt this way, unless he was doing something that was making me uncomfortable. But just like, getting on the elevator and standing there? I wouldn't even blink, it wouldn't even occur to me to be afraid. This truly baffles me. Like, I'm all for women advocating for their own safety and trusting their instincts, but this is so weird to me, like I almost think you're making this up to prove a point about trans people. Literally just the other day I had a brief conversation in the elevator with a man (not a trans woman) who was a guest at the hotel I work at, and the only reason I remember the interaction at all is because it was recently and this ad made me think about it. I'm wary of men sometimes and I've had plenty of creepy instances with them, but I'm not concerned about men standing next to me. If you truly believe that you're in terrible danger if a man is existing somewhat near you, you may need to touch some grass or (and I mean this with genuine compassion, not snark) you need to get some therapy. I have issues with the trans community (look at my blog), but this ad was fine and I think the reaction to it makes any kind of gender critical thinking look bad. I really don't get it.

Ok, calling out a misogynistic thing that a trans woman has done or said, go for it. Shouting about the injustice of trans women taking opportunities or sports wins made for females, please do. Pointing out the logical inconsistencies and misogyny in extreme gender ideology, I'm right there witin you. But this just comes across as hateful. Seems like the only thing this Lucy Clark did is be trans and have a job. Clark didn't take away a job from a woman?? I haven't fully read up on it but did Clark say or do something objectionable? Like insist that lesbians should like dick or reduce women down to offensive stereotypes? And yeah I know the ideology itself sometimes reduces people to gender stereotypes, but there's a difference between someone trying to deal with gender dysphoria vs. Dylan Mulvaney or Andrea Long Chu. Look, sometimes things JKR says are taken out of context and I'm obviously not saying that TRA types don't say/do things worthy of criticism (obviously, I mean look at my blog). But what I see here is a largely not famous trans woman pretty much just... existing, and a billionaire with a large social media following making fun of them for no other conceivable reason than being trans. There was no actual injustice JKR was trying to highlight, she was just shitting on a trans person for being a trans person. I mean I don't follow English women's football, but that job isn't only for women, correct? And maybe there's a lack of women in leadership positions there (I wouldn't know) and if that's the case then that should be addressed. But let's be so for real, JKR wouldn't have said anything about that if this same person had gotten that job but had not come out as transgender. The ideology is flawed in my opinion and there are genuine things to criticize within the movement, but there are people with genuine gender dysphoria who are just trying their best to handle it and they shouldn't have to deal with scores and scores of people saying awful things about them on Twitter because JKR thought it would be funny. I've liked and defended JKR in the past and I will continue to do so in the future when warranted, but this was unnecessary, mean, petty at best and hateful at worst, and is a terrible look for any kind of gender critical thinking. The "JKR and other TERFS don't care about women they just hate trans people for existing" argument becomes harder to disprove when she does something like this. Be better, don't praise this shit.

This is obviously mean and awful, and the side effects of HRT that affect health are being completely ignored, but also like... I've seen so many people say they want to "look like a twink" and other people encouraging that by saying they should take testosterone. There's a whole culture of women for whom looking like an androgynous boy is the goal of transition for them and I've NEVER seen anyone in the trans community tell them "well your body might not react like that". I'm not saying no one ever has, and I mean a "truscum" type might say that, but it's rare. So I don't know, it rubs me the wrong way how the tiktok insinuates that people expecting that aesthetic from testosterone are just delulu and not a) probably young and b) actively encouraged to do this. I can almost guarantee you this tiktokker didn't say shit about that look being a transition goal until they were insulting detransitioners.

I used to really like purses a lot, like I sort of collected them, but when I started identifying as trans I stopped carrying them because I thought they were too girly. I remember looking for a more "masculine" wallet and even at the tune I remember thinking "this is kind of silly".

Ok I don't know who this man is, but I kinda understand the attitude of "it's such a small percentage of the population, who cares what other people do with their bodies, it doesn't affect me and I barely even think about it , why go out of your way to be hateful?" Like there are probably things that I feel that way about and it's possible that I don't know what I don't know. Not all of us can be activists about everything all the time. I can almost guarantee you, though, that if this man had a real conversation with a trans activist who was deep in gender ideology (not just any trans person) he would be shocked and would find that he holds basic common sense beliefs that the activist would find incredibly bigoted. So I don't blame this guy or anyone who thinks similarly, like it totally make sense. But for those of us for whom, for whatever reason, gender ideology plays a big role in our daily lives, it's not something we can just ignore. We've seen things that this guy does not think is really happening. That's why the voices of detransitioners and desisters are so important. In 2024, "transgender" isn't a very small population of people transitioning in order to make their lives bearable or just another way of saying VERY gnc, which is what I think a lot of people who say stuff like that believe. It has become so, so much more than that and I think some people simply haven't seen that first hand and they just don't know. This actually gives me a little bit of hope, because if I come across someone who thinks like this, we can just not talk about it because it's not an important part of their life, or it'll be very easy to peak them because they don't know what TRAs really believe.
