If my armor breaks I’ll fuse it back together.
Linkin Park - Battle Symphony (via leayceline)
I got a long way to go And a long memory I been searching for an answer Always just out of reach Blood on the floor Sirens repeat I been searching for the courage To face my enemies When they turn down the lights I hear my battle symphony All the world in front of me If my armor breaks I’ll fuse it back together Battle symphony Please just don’t give up on me And my eyes are wide awake For my battle symphony For my battle symphony They say that I don’t belong Say that I should retreat That I’m marching to the rhythm Of a lonesome defeat But the sound of your voice Puts the pain in reverse No surrender, no illusions And for better or worse When they turn down the lights I hear my battle symphony All the world in front of me If my armor breaks I’ll fuse it back together Battle symphony Please just don’t give up on me And my eyes are wide awake If I fall, get knocked down Pick myself up off the ground If I fall, get knocked down Pick myself up off the ground When they turn down the lights I hear my battle symphony All the world in front of me If my armor breaks I’ll fuse it back together Battle symphony Please just don’t give up on me And my eyes are wide awake For my battle symphony For my battle symphony
song of the day.
Battle Symphony - Linkin Park
Talking about mental health is so important. You never know what people are hiding behind their smiles. Be kind to one and another. Reach out, show people you care & you’re there to listen. Support your family, friends and strangers. Anyone who’s in a need of a friend. We all need to be reminded that we’re not alone. Just remember: there’s always someone out there who’s willing to listen to you. Never EVER feel ashamed to seek help. We all deserve to live a beautiful and happy life.
words to live by.
I have scars on my skin and on my soul. I am healing but i am not healed. I am recovering but i am not recovered. I am a work in progress. Each day brings new challenges, but also small victories.
And So I Stay, Catherine Calabrese To Write Love On Her Arms blog post
Wake up.
We are all too hard on each other. So many of us suffer from a mental illness and feel shame and/or embarrassment to talk about it. We should always have an open safe space to talk about this. It is something so much bigger than any of us and too much for anyone to handle on their own. There is too much stigma attached. If we have a mental illness, we are crazy, unhinged, dangerous. No, we have a disease, a brain disease at that. We ARE in control of our actions, but not always our feelings. And too often we just bury it inside and think it is better that way, no one wants to hear how sick you’re feeling today. Well, I do. And there is ALWAYS someone out there who gives a damn. If you ever feel low, this blog is a safe space. You can message me in private, I will always lend an open ear and will always be free of judgement.
So let’s make a new pact for the new year that we will get another step closer to breaking the stigma. Remembering we’re not alone. And today, we have celebrities who are open about their illnesses. I know for some people that helps more than a stranger behind a keyboard, and that is completely fine. Just know, if Lady Gaga can talk about it, so can you. If Demi Lovato can continue to be open about her illness, addiction, and new life path with literally millions of people, you can do it with just one.
Talk, please. Don’t keep any of these things inside. It’s not only toxic for yourself, it can injure your mental health more and lead to worse things like suicide. And that is something else in itself that needs more awareness. So, if you’re feeling any way today, I am here. Let’s talk.
“When we don’t do anything about the stigma on mental illness, many people who are suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse and mood disorders will feel that because of their condition they are unlovable which is a feeling that doesn’t cultivate healing. If you’re suffering, tell your story, create art or simply be a friend to someone who’s also going through the same thing as you. The last thing we need is someone fighting this battle alone for it is when we suffer alone that we truly suffer.”
— Juansen Dizon, The Stigma on Mental Illness
Thread I posted on my Twitter regarding people slandering Michael for seeking help from a therapist after playing Killmonger. People are so sick.
1) He isn’t “weak” for going to a therapist
2) Even if you didn’t think he did a good job as Killmonger, that doesn’t invalidate his feelings/emotions
3) Again, regardless of if you thought he didn’t do great as Killmonger, he still had to go to a dark place filled with nothing but pain and turmoil in order to portray Erik, who is nothing like Michael in real life.
Y’all will literally find any reason to hate this man, whether it be because of who he decides to date or his decision to seek out therapy due to feeling depressed. He does nothing to anybody and it isn’t fair that he’s met with such criticism.
Anyway, I just needed to get this off my chest.
We are the Pride Knights, and this is our battle cry No enemy can shake us, as hard as they can try There’s a fire in our eyes that no hatred can kill A passion in our hearts that’s as strong as our will To our fellow queers who fight their battles on their own We promise to fight with you, you are never alone To our fellow queers who have fallen with the pain We thank you for your courage, your fight is not in vain
We are defenders of the right to be proud of who you are To love who you love and to accept every scar We are your knights, protectors of our pride Together we stand, together we ride
Thank you everyone for the overwhelming support you have shown for this project and for joining the @prideknights. Our goal is to let everyone feel and know they are valid no matter who they are.
The website has been fully funded! Our next goal is to create armor so we can make empowering and inspirational Youtube videos! For anyone who wants to help: Be your local Pride Knight and support and empower others. You can get these designs on a variety of items in our store. The campaign ends on December 15.
Words can’t describe how much I love this.
Great news everyone! The Etsy shop we work with for the armour has given us a 20% discount because she believes in our cause! The armour is now 42% funded! Thank you everyone for your support 🌈🔥🗡❤
So you are going to make empowering videos giving motivational speeches or something as a Pride Knight and inspire thousands of people who struggle with their sexual orientation or gender identity?
That’s exactly what we’re going to do!
I totally support this. You have my sword!
And my axe!!!
And my bow!!
Coming Home.
I am starting this blog as my own way to raise awareness to mental illness and suicide prevention. I have a few lengthy entries I will include later on today. And my hope is that this will touch someone, help save just one person. 💚💙
