"I'm sure you're already aware, but." Odette paused long enough to scan Wisp's form from head to whatever the end of them was. "You have no legs. Why is that? I don't mean to be insensitive, I'm simply curious. We didn't have anything quite like you back home."
No legs? Oh! Right! Regular people had legs. Wisp looked down as if making sure it was true, and sure enough, the end of their body was nothing but lightly flickering blue, cold flame masquerading as torn fabric. They waved two pale, thin hands at the air underneath them, upsetting the flow of the flame momentarily before it flickered back into place. “I suppose I simply do not need legs.” They said quietly, eyes still stuck on the space beneath them. “I was born a tiny blue flame. Swaying, flickering, glowing. Incandescent. Little flames float; legs are not necessary.”
