Back in the middle ages in Europe superstitions surrounding black cats emerged. They were seen as a bad omen, bringers of death or even that they were a familiar or witch in disguise out looking for victims. This idea that black cats are bad luck simply goes back to ignorance, and trying to give explanation to things that might not have made sense all those years ago.
Today we know that the myth is not only silly but really harmful to black cats. A black cat is simply just a cat with high levels of production of the pigment melanin.
Most places won't adopt out black cats during October because of the high mortality and abandonment rates during that time of year. During the rest of the year black cat adoption rates are 50% lower than other colours of cat.
So next time you see a black cat, give them a little head pat and a kiss 💋

okay so I watched it... fuck HBO for reducing the amount of episodes this season. I'm feeling the gay feelings and now my friends are concerned
As many of us are today, I'm heartbroken and a bit depressed. What I can't relate to is people saying that they'll stop watching the show entirely and that they hate the writers because of today's episode. I've been through many jarring and sudden character deaths in shows, but I feel like ofmd in particular gets under our skin as an audience and thus making the death of a fandom fave feel like a personal attack.
I'm not saying that you shouldn't criticise the decision if you loathe it, I just want people to reflect and actually take time to mourn before making drastic comments towards the writers or other fandom members from day one. In the end it's just a tv show, and a season made under harder circumstances than the last, and to keep one's sanity it's best to treat it like that.
If there's anyone we should be angry with at all it's probably hbo, for many reasons.
