Caleb pulled open the book bag that was slung over his shoulder and reached inside of it for his library card as Seulki continued speaking. A small nod would suffice to approve of her choice of coffee shop. After all, he wasn’t picky. He should just be glad a girl offered to go out with him at all.

Her icy tone took him aback for a moment, and while he straightened up he gave her a rather confused look. What had he done wrong now? If it wasn’t one thing, then it was another, wasn’t it? That seemed to be Caleb’s luck. But he wouldn’t take it personally. It seemed she had missed his joke, too.

He’d be damed if he wouldn’t give her a hard time for that, if only for a moment.

“ Well, Miss Seulki, for your information, I was joking as well. Perhaps we both should be checking our intelligence and sense of humor. ” He raised a brow before giving a playful laugh and waving a hand.  “ Don’t fret, I understood your banter. I know that you got mine too. But I appreciate you offering to treat me, and if you insist I’ll let you. Just know this means this won’t be the last time you see me--I plan on getting even with you. ”

We were at my place watching movies and cuddling on the sofa etc but now you’ve fallen asleep in my lap and I know my parents/housemate is gonna be home any minute but I haven’t got the heart to wake you + you just turned over and snuggled closer to me and I almost died of cute

Caleb wasn’t generally one to act on impulse. Quite the opposite, in fact. He analyzed situations until there was little to no speculation left. But it was one of those rare times where not a second could go wasted, and so he pulled the person closest to him and did the only thing that made sense in that moment.

Really Caleb? A kiss was the best you could come up with?

When he sure the coast was clear, he pulled away, and was embarrassed to know that it had been another man. “ Shit, dude, sorry, ” he stumbled to get through his sentence, backing away immediately. “ I just...you know... It looked like those guys meant serious business... ”
