Okay, as the poll from my post ( https://www.tumblr.com/destinydragons101/814853934784053248/which-do-i-talk-about-robot-mikey-or-the?source=share ) actually got some interaction I'm gonna go on about that first.
Okay, as I was typing this it got really long so I'm putting it under a cut.
The Pizzaplex was changed to exist at the same time as the other games, yes it fucks over the timeline and no I don't care. The timeline is a mess anyway with SOTM.
The Pizzaplex is, instead of being almost a weird mix of retro and the hip new thing, seen as a futuristic, modern place with all kinds of fun attractions like the Glamrocks' advanced AI and tons of games. Overall the place itself conceptually doesn't change much, though I'm sure I'll design a different layout for it eventually.
Because of the change to the timeline, some other adjustments had to be made as well with the characters. The Pizzaplex here is run by a separate company, which means it's not known as Freddy's like it is in the games. Monty and Roxy are still part of it as they don't really exist in the previous games, but Chica and Freddy are swapped out with a duck (Ducky) and male deer (Buck), respectively.
Sun and Moon also got an overhaul, their designs are less clown-heavy and more altered to fit the animalistic theme (sorry S&M fans I don't like the super humanoid designs, DJ Music Man also is in this category). They're also separate entities, though they do share an internal link to kind of play off the theme of the canon version. The idea of two AI in the same form is nice and all but probably really rough in practice, especially with it being light-dependent. Sun is a lion and Moon is a dark blue panther, both are also being put back in the theater, but the "soft" aspect of their appearance is kept. This extends to the other animatronics, actually, though I'm not sure if I want to do silicone or fur coverings or some mix of the two or an entirely different strategy to make them look less like a lawsuit waiting to happen.
I mentioned DJ Music Man earlier, and honestly the concept isn't bad. Having a giant robot DJ for an arcade sounds great. I just don't like the design itself given to him. My initial thought is to make him a rather cartoony spider, almost like a jumping spider, since the Arcade is so big and would require constant supervision but it has those giant holes all over the walls for him to travel through. I'm not sure how exactly I want to get the design across, but I don't want it to be massively triggering for anyone with arachnophobia.
Now, as for the main cast, Roxy and Monty are both pretty similar to their game counterparts, just with the change of their color palettes being a little bit less everywhere. Roxy's was moved to be red only while Monty's mohawk was made purple.
Buck is a little different from Freddy. Glamrock Freddy is kind of an orangey-brown, but I designed Buck to be a soft brown with pale tan detailing in an effort to kind of make his design less visually everywhere. He has pale blue and yellow 'clothing', and distinctive antlers to match. Beyond that, I'm not really sure. I haven't played around with the characters much, I'm more worried about making it work before the designs.
Ducky is... a mixed bag. She's still similar to Glamrock Chica with a white base color, but I gave her pale blue, pale pink, and pale orange colors to go with as well. Her beak and foot shape is going to have to be different to emphasize the duck theme, too. I'm not entirely sold on how I want to make her appear distinct apart from that, really?
Vanessa is theorized (I'm not certain if it was ever actually confirmed or not and you never know with these games) to be possessed by Glitch/Burn/Whatever-Trap, but here I'm taking that aspect away since William's not dead. Instead of being a security officer, she works on the back end, basically constantly updating the code of the AI, security systems, basically all the stuff that makes the Pizzaplex function. She's not exactly rich or anything and in fact wears stuff from the gift shop inside the Pizzaplex, so she's kind of a standard nerd in that way.
Overall there's a lot of changed parts and some stuff not mentioned here, but I tried to keep it to canon as this post was getting rather long.
