comics fandom and greek mythology fandom are so weird in ways that are so similar and it's FASCINATING to me

#massive problems with refusing to both acknowledge the canon materials and understand that there isn't one consistent canon #leading to one semi-consistent fanon characterization that everyone just. subscribes to for some reason.#blorboification of your fave to the detriment of everyone else involved #one group of characters being EVERYWHERE for no good reason #odysseus is to the tagamemnon tag what batman is to the dc tag #same with the royal family of ithaca and the batfam #also it feels weird to call it the greek mythology “fandom”#but I do think a lot of people interact with it the same way they do with modern media #so fandom is the best word?#but curious about people's thoughts on that #tagamemnon #dc #marvel
