look. i don’t think my stretch marks are beautiful. i don’t think they’re tiger stripes or natural tattooos. i don’t think my acne is beautiful. i don’t think the bags under my eyes are beautiful. i just think they’re human. and i don’t think i have to be beautiful all of the time in order to be accepted and loved and sucessful. i don’t think every small detail of my outer appearence needs to be translated into prettiness.
fun fact: this POV is actually called “body neutrality” and it’s SO MUCH more accessible/realistic for a lot of people. it’s based on the idea that the way we look is the least interesting/important thing about who we are, and that our bodies are worthy of respect regardless if they fit the mold of the current beauty ideals.

Tyler and his gang had decided to help a small bakery business after the owners had given them all free food. There was a food fair happening in two days and you were all gonna help with setting up.
Currently, most were at the hardware store. But you had offered to paint the business’ name sign, so you were sitting on the ground outside with a plank of wood.
You dug the purple and black paint tubes out from the basket Lily had set down infront of you.
Uncapping the black, you instinctually brought it to your nose so you could smell it. It was a habit of yours.
It was a normal, not too strong chemical smell. You lifted the purple, wanting to compare. As you inhaled, you heard people approaching. And the two tubes smelt the same, of course.
“Why is she sniffing it?” Asked a voice.
You squirted the paint onto a small sheet of cardboard, giggling as it made a funny noise. You and Boone had sketched out the letters before, so you grabbed your paintbrush and got straight into it.
“Y/n? Do you know where Lily is?” Said Javi.
You glanced up at him, doing a second take when you saw that Scott was with him. He looked good, but he always did. You liked looking at him from afar.
“Uh- she’s over there!” You pointed with your paintbrush, using your other hand to itch your nose.
Javi thanked you and walked away. You tried to go back to painting the “E” but you were aware of the shadow over you.
“You’re standing in my light.” You smiled up at him, squinting due to the sun. Wow, he was so tall.
You didn’t want to be rude, but you weren’t sure why he was still here. He seemed to your opposite in many ways. That’s why you hadn’t tried to befriend him, because Kate had warned against it.
He lifted his sunglasses up, smirking.
“I guess I’ll leave you alone, then.”
You felt awkward under his gaze, being used to the playful nature of your crew.
“You have a purple nose, by the way.” He said, before leaving.
You touched your nose to check, coming away with a purple finger.

Scott is a very tall man. All his muscle also makes him quite heavy.
The bed you two have ended up sharing, despite being a double, was only ever intended to be used by one person.
You like to cuddle in bed, so you often fall asleep huddled together. However this becomes a problem due to his sleep habits.
Maybe it’s trauma from events in his past, but something makes him toss and turn in bed.
“Scott!” You whisper-yelled, shaking his bicep.
“Mhm, yeah?” He groans into the darkness, reaching to pull you closer by the waist.
“You’re turning the bed into a bouncy castle.”
Boone asks why you don’t just make him sleep on the floor, which makes you and Kate laugh.
He treats you like a teddy bear, occasionally he’ll even throw a leg over you.
You do have to admit that his big strong arms make you feel safe, and sometimes you use one as a pillow. He’s never complained about any pins and needles he’s gotten from it.
The best times are when he wakes up with the imprint of a pillow on his face from sleeping in an odd position. You sneakily take a picture of his half -asleep face before he takes your phone, puts it on his bedside table and pulls you so that you’re lying on top of him. His own weighted blanket.
