How material is your character?
marcus is actually materialistic, which has many reasons, but the most important one is his upbringing; he is dipped with every luxurious thing from the moment he is born, down to his diaper’s pin, a golden Versace is merely an example of one of them
What does having material possessions mean to them (ie. fancy clothes and purses or keepsakes and things that don’t have price tags but more personal meaning)?
it is of much importance that he combines both fanciness and style in his possession, uniqueness as well when applicable!
this is of more importance in his younger years, as a kid, he had to have the best, most unique and probably most expensive possessions amongst everyone else of his age range, if he felt threatened with anything else, he did act, one instance is ruining the kid’s clothes when he threw them into the fountain water
Do they need a fancy car or big house?
considering how he owns mansions in every country he goes to, let alone his own, yes, he has to have fancy, elegant cars and huge houses, it is how he is raised, how his taste has been shaped
Does material mean status to them or is it just an obsession?
it does, yes; simply for how he has been taught it is, how the community respects the rich more than the poor
What are some of their most prized possessions that they couldn’t or wouldn't want to live without?
there isn’t much really he wouldn’t live without because to him everything is easy to replace if lost or outdated, it is mostly things with meanings and stories to them that are irreplaceable to him, such as anything related to his mother, his butler Elliot and his Raccoon and British short hair cat
What does their house look like, is it more museum and no one should touch or is it home sweet home?
his houses are mansions, huge and fancy, he does have some smaller ones for vacation purposes and whenever he wants to be as alone as possible, or for dates of course
his main mansion however, is dear to him for all the memories he has there, he was raised there
Are they an impulse shopper or do they shop with purpose?
no matter what this purpose is, he is mostly one with it rather than impulsively picking things, he also rarely does it himself, and mostly online or through contacting the provider directly to make him customized pieces and stuff
Can they walk into a store and not walk out with something?
yes definitely, and he would feel nothing about it, in the other hand, the store owner and workers will feel slapped because it means that Marcus Roth doesn’t like a single thing they have, or they are outdated
