don't really indulge in sickfic/hurt comfort in my self shipping, at least when my insert is the effected party, so getting an urge to indulge in it with the volt and eddie ship is a nice change up.

anyway, hi and time for headcanons about eddie (and volt to a lesser extent) lore.

in the pre split era, I don't envision eddie looking or acting wildly different compared to how he is ingame/modern timeline. like I do think he'd try to keep himself better groomed/overall maintain his appearance more, and would try to be more affable to any guests in the breakerbox, aka actively being the host. but it would be to his detriment.

and although volt is a part of him, his personality and looks are very much based off what eddie wishes he was like/what he wants in an ideal partner/protector.

and I believe that the intial romance between eddie and volt was an incredibly painful slow burn for everyone involved.

especially because on one side of you've got eddie, a guy who hates himself, who would already feel guilt for needing volt and would likely feel undeserving of affection and advance (and would likely push volt to pursue other people bc of this)

vs volt, who was made in a form of self love and a mix of desperation, would've probably be figuring out how to be a person for a minute there, but would know one thing for certain, he cares about his other half.

and although the entire outline of that situation is unclear, I do envision the event that shifted the dynamic from yearning to an actual relationship would've been in a heated argument between the two.
