I'll probably write some kind of something better about this eventually, but ive been churning the parallels between padme's handmaidens and the clone troopers in my head for weeks atp
like, the clones are men born with no individuality fighting to gain identity, and the handmaidens are girls(women by the time the clones are A Thing) born with identity but purposely casting aside their individuality for a larger cause
i think specifically Sabé's pov in the Padmé book series makes the.. i guess inverse parallel? more obvious, since she talks more directly about how she fought so hard to give up her individual identity, and then struggles to be a person in the absence of Padmé
if i was to write anything specific for this concept ive got, I'd probably invent a new handmaiden. by the end of aotc, none of the active duty women (besides sabé, sometimes) are the ones from tpm, and at that point Padmé only bothers mentioning maybe two new ones by name more than once, so it would be pretty easy to slip her in without much canon interference
also because i think that the clones interacting with Saché and Yané' and their kids would be adorable, and a nice break from the usual angst fest most star wars fics tend to be (they have so many kids that their wookiepedia articles literally just say "several")
ive been really into the bad batch recently, which could be a decently interesting story, but i may just go with the 501st since theyre the most likely to actually interact with any of Padmé's staff other than the coruscant guard (and because anakin catching them might be really funny if i word it right)
