Get to know me!

When the clock struck twelve on the 24th of September year 2000...

Too far? My bad.

Hi! I am Dhianne, a 3rd year Bachelor of Arts in Communication major in Media student. I am 20 years old. Just a young adult trying to experience and learn as much as she can from life. I love the outdoors, be it in the mountains, or the seas. There's just something freeing being in those places. I am also a huge bookworm. I own a number of books on a wide range of genres from fiction and nonfiction. Lastly, I love food.

I am an introvert. I am not really the most social of beings unless I need to be. This led the guidance counselor, who interviewed me during my enrollment at the university, to doubt that I would finish the program. He was sure that I would shift. Well, here I am in my 3rd year of college, never missing a dean's list and continually improving my craft with the same fervor as when I started. And I guess that is what's unique about me, I am quite an irony.

This semester, I will be taking a digital publishing class. I hope that it will be a class where we learn by doing. I am really excited given that, currently, the world mostly revolves online; developing digital publishing skills is relevant.

May we have a fruitful academic year!

Beat the Distance

As I’m laying here, in mine and my girlfriends bed, I can’t sleep. The bed I sleep in is no longer just mine. It is ours. I have gone through so many lonely nights for this. Nights I squeezed my pillow wishing it would turn into her, nights where my tears flooded the same pillow thinking this day would never come… And here I lay with her across my chest, listening to her breathe slowly in the comfort of my arms. How lucky are we to have beat such a huge barrier. Miles are temporary. Pain is temporary. Loneliness is temporary. I am telling you right now that if you don’t give up, if you work together and never lose sight of your love, it is the most gratifying thing in the world. And instead of laying awake with an ache of missing them in your chest, you’ll be awake with them laying across your chest and not sleeping because you feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I promise. It’s worth it. It’s so fucking worth it.
