Hey, just another update that I’m not really gonna be posting on this blog anymore. For mental health reasons I remade and I’ve settled in on the new blog (as well as 2 side blogs for studying and art) quite nicely.

I’ll be checking back here periodically because I’m still transferring posts over and I have a joint project blog to help manage, but if any of my friends/mutuals on here would like for a way to reach me (skype, line, kkt, phone #, snapchat, twitter, whatever) feel free to drop me an ask. I probably won’t be giving out the new blog. If you happen to find it without me giving it out, please don’t let me know.

I have had an interesting time in the years I’ve been on tumblr, with this blog as my very first. Over the next few months, expect some news about my group’s webcomic that will be located rebellcomics but otherwise feel free to unfollow.

The potato has been genetically modified ever since scientists realized they could fight back blight that caused the Irish potato famine

ALL citrus fruits are GMO hybrids of the pomelo, mandarin, and citron- the only 3 original citrus.

Most people have no idea what they’re talking about when they say they’re against GMO’s. No idea.

We need to get around to realizing that genetic modification isnt contamination, or carcinogenic chemicals, or sludge, or evil godless mutations. They aren’t horrifying and they’re grown natural just like everything else.

It’s not really a simple issue though. What do we do about GMO corporations modifying seeds that produce non-seed yielding crops in order to enforce a monopoly over the market? This has enormous ramifications around community rights, sustainability, and autonomy. It its an act of economic imperialism, tbqh. Vandana Shiva writes extensively about this issue in particular.

This is not to say SOME GMOs cannot have useful impacts, but it does clearly tell us that corporations do not have feeding people as their central motive – it is, as it always is under capitalism, to make money by any means necessary. There are other issues which deserve a more nuanced analysis too, admittedly, however, I am not qualified to discuss them on a platform as visible as this one.
