I made these as a way to compile all the geographical vocabulary that I thought was useful and interesting for writers. Some descriptors share categories, and some are simplified, but for the most part everything is in its proper place. Not all the words are as useable as others, and some might take tricky wording to pull off, but I hope these prove useful to all you writers out there!

I’m probably (definitely) projecting but headcanon spaceboy adores animals. Like. Planets he explores n stuff he’ll be fascinated by the creatures there and will write abt them in a lil notebook or smthn :) and he wanted a dog/cat/any pet when he was younger but pinkbeard was like No.

But like imagine a worn out journal he’s had for years with different doodles and notes of otherworldly creatures

sunny often gets lost when walking with his friends because they all talk to each other while he stays quiet and just gets distracted by random things, so the gang decides to always hold his hand when they go somewhere and he doesn't mind because it reminds him of when mari used to do it

Stranger's red crayon sometimes gets inky and smells like iron, and that would be very odd if Stranger knew what crayons really were supposed to be. Or if what they had was actually a crayon. They just assume all crayons are like this, or whatever he has that he considers a crayon. Their crayon will melt into a puddle at their feet, and then wherever they walk, they end up leaving a trail of little red footprints.

They've done this so many times, so they know that's when they are supposed to go back up to the dream and start leaving clues and hints. Little things to jog Omori into remembering the game they're actually playing. This has happened over and over, and sometimes they wonder why they're doing this again, if nothing is going to change, but they know that this is their part in whatever is happening. This is their role. If they don't do this, a different part of themselves will instead, and then they might not exist at all. Better to exist in a terrible cycle then not to exist.

Leaving the keys around headspace is never easy. The brightness of everything hurts their eyes, and the friendly creatures that inhabit the world are always looking to interact with them. Even the 'enemies' are pretty docile when Omori and his friends aren't around.

Except the bears. Stranger doesn't like bears.

After he's done leaving all of the keys in their special places, Stranger is finally able to escape back into the darkness. They spend so much time in that darkness wanting to be in the light, but the light is never that much better. Sometimes they think that they might always be like that, perpetually longing for something that is different than what they have, then craving their old life once it's new again.

They think about that a lot as they walk with their little red footprints back through the forest, stopping to look at Mari. She's sitting on her picnic blanket like she always is, just waiting. Mari also knows what's happening, she knows the routine. She waves at Stranger sometimes, gives them a cookie. Well, leaves a cookie on the ground at the edge of the forest and turns around so they feel safe enough to take it.

Stranger eventually makes it back to the house. It's a shoe, but it's also a house. Or at least it used to be at some point. Now it's just a gaping black hole back down to where Stranger belongs.

It was his house once upon a time, except they aren't him. Not really. He's lost somewhere in the darkness of Black Space, and Strangers are all that's left of him.

artist’s notes: hi! experimenting with using RL backgrounds in my drawings instead. i am really really bad at drawing backgrounds and i’d rather have *something* there over a really boring background. i really like how this is going so far! i hope y’all can enjoy this update as well <3 fully finished picture + sketch coming soon!
