I make this post because I already answerd the original post by @writingonjorvik and wanted to talk more about because it really would be a great way to 'fix' the serie, but didnt want to edit or reblog the post a second time.

Mistfall is just a tv serie inside the game.

After the succe of Canter Ella, or maybe the contact stated a movie and a serie should be made, Thalia goes to Mistfall for inspiration and decided to make the serie about that.

So Thalia more or less went:

The new ranger girl? She will be the star!

The hot ranger guy? Sounds like romantic interest! What? Alonso and Skye arent a thing? Bah! You know nothing about showbiz! The people want romance!

Ofcourse the amazing mayor Sigry will be in it too! Dundull love her and will come and watch the show! What? She has only been mayor for a short time? Do you really want the corrupt dirtbag to be 'in charge' in the show? No? I didnt think so. Sigry it is!

The magic doesnt make sense? Magic isnt real so its fine!

It would explain why Alonso looks off its just an actor, he cant play himself, he have work to do. And the other things just dont add up is because the characters are real, but the story isnt.

Jorvik has magic, but its keeped hidden and most people dont belive it. But there are legends and stories.

There are toys of 'super Jarl' that fight Garnok so people have heard of the stuff, they just dont know the whole truth.

So it could be possible that Thalia just took inspiration of stories of jwh, runes and magic and used that in the show.

When Skye gets intoduced to SSO they could just put Thalia there to talk about her new serie and ask mc if they have seen it. Maybe even have Alonso commenting on how the actor doesnt even look like him.

It would be a fun way to explain the serie and tie it into the game.

Quick headcanon to fix Mistfall: It’s a TV show within Jorvik.

Based on the fact that there is a store selling Skye’s outfit and a poster for the series within the game, much like we’ve seen for Lisa’s music between ingame and out of game representation, I want to suggest that Mistfall was also a series in game, and this can be used to avoid a lot of plot holes.

Now, I don’t think this excuses the fact that SSE did not seem to make sure that Mistfall was fact checked with their own game, and this is backed up by recent comments about freelancers they work with getting mixed resources for creating characters. I do think Covid and the severe weather that were the cause of the original delay for Ferly’s release should be considered, but I do think SSE needs to take responsibility for the Alonso/Skye subplot not being better sited considering Alonso is and would have been an adult based on media as we know it.

However, I think that this headcanon can help meet a middle ground for keeping Mistfall canon. Say some eccentric but not particularly well researching director (Thalia) was hired to create a documentary series on the freak wildfires in Mistfall three years prior. Thalia, with her flare for the dramatic, adapted the story into a magical adventure story (this part being relatively accurate) with a dreamy romance subplot of the most attractive character and closest character she should pair with Skye.

It would help handwave plot holes in the series like why Sigry is already councilwoman three years prior to her election in game and why Alonso, a Chilean immigrant with previous work experience as a basically ranger in the Andes, got aged down to what seems to be a teen to be JR in the show and wouldn’t fit with his given backstory in game, why it appears that druids and not a group like DC seemed to be behind Blaze’s branding, along with the rest of the plot holes in the show. It’s an adaptation within an adaptation.

And I think that gives SSE some room to work with it, because then there’s more wiggle room for bringing characters like Skye into SSO. The events in Mistfall didn’t happen as shown, but they also didn’t not happen. It’s a bad retelling, which gives us as players areas to still be surprised about, but it also gives SSE a reasonable way to avoid making Mistfall, and some of the grosser parts of that series’s implications, fully canon without totally discarding it.

I fully support this, Thalia seems like the person that would do this.

And that would explain why Alonso doesnt look like Alonso, its an actor playing him.

Sigry doesnt look right either in the show so that can also explain as being an actor.

Rania looks right but she could be playing herself. Because Rania actually have time too be in the show, the others have work to do and Rania is bit of Dundulls sweetheart. She is the celebrity name to get people to watch the show.

I was riding my black Friesian Darkobsidian (he’s goth too) and using a black saddle, bridle, and blood red blanket. I was riding outside Moorland. It was snowing and raining so there was no sun which I was very happy about. A lot of Bobcat preps stared at me. I put up my middle finger at them.
