I really can and will blame the 9-5 for everything. "We're in a loneliness epidemic" well, we have to spend a third of our day interacting with people in a professional way that makes forming real friendships difficult and then we're peopled out by the time we're done. "People are eating more and more unhealthily" people have to spend more than a third of their day doing work related tasks and they don't want to spend their tiny amount of free time making food. "People aren't involved in their local communities" after spending more than a third of their day doing work related things people are tired and also all those community events take place during normal working hours. "People need to get more hobbies" after spending more than a third of their day working, people are TIRED and don't want to do anything that takes yet more energy. "Literacy is dying" to maintain your critical thinking skills you need to read/watch things that make you think and after spending more than a third of your day doing work related stuff you are TIRED and don't want to expend even more brainnpower. "People need to get outside more" People. Are. TIRED. Because they have to spend all of their time working or preparing for work or recovering from work or doing all the chores they couldn't stay on top of because of work. I can blame fucking anything on having to work, it is truly the root of all fucking evil.
i don't really want to weight in on the "using big words in your writing is ableist" discourse happening on tiktok because i'm like 90% certain it's an anti-intellectual psyop to stir up drama in online circles to promote the use of ai to summarize literally everything and thus feeding the LLMs and lowering the populace's mistrust of such tools but i also have to say: dictionaries and thesauruses are the most accessible they've ever been. if you use an e-reader of any kind you can look up a word without leaving the page. there's a plethora of online dictionaries and if you just type a word + "meaning" into google it'll usually give you a definition. we used to have pocket dictionaries we used when reading in class. i have two on my shelf right now that i used in high school. stop letting the fascists purposefully misuse anti-ableism rhetoric to trick you into never thinking again.
top 10 ways to ragebait me: shatter me edition
“Juliette was whiny and cried too much” id like you to try and live your entire life being abused and being blamed for something you can’t control and try to make yourself smaller every day AND BE TOLD AT 12 TO JUST KYS AND BE EXPERIMENTED ON AND THEN LIVE THROUGH THOSE 284 DAYS AND THEN ON TOP OF IT ALL YOU HAVE EVEN MORE TRAUMA THATS BEEN ERASED MEANING THE LOVE OF YOUR LIFE WHO HAS BEEN TRYING TO SAVE YOU HAD BEEN RIPPED AWAY FROM YOU OVER AND OVER (and this isn’t even half of it i could go on)
“I loved Aaron in the first book” LIAR
“I want a Paris backstory I feel bad for him” well you got one and I don’t think it justifies child abuse
“I hate Adam” yk what i hate I hate people with no critical thinking skills
“Rosabelle is annoying”im outside your house and also genuinely how tf do you like Aaron and hate Rosabelle your a M-I-S-O-G-Y-N-I-S-T
“Juliette’s such a girlboss” deepest fucking sigh of my life
“Aaron’s never really done much wrong” you missed THE ENTIRE POINT
“what emmaline did is so bad and evil” and you don’t deserve to read the books
*any whitewashed fanart of Nazeera* GET OUT GET OUT GET OUT GET OOUUUTTTT
“Juliette had 3 miscarriages”
"You're a woman now" (Poem)
Tw: SA implied
You’re a woman now they said like it was a blood oath not a birthday like it was a knifed rib not a ribcage like it was time to let the dogs out of their pens and paint your name in slurs on the doorframe like it was time to rip out childhood like stitches like teeth like rot like the ribbon tied around your wrist was red for a reason and every breath past ten was borrowed and bleeding and you’re a woman now they said as your hips cracked open like gunshots under wet meat skin splitting like old fruit in the heat bones punching through your body like inmates breaking out your knees buckling with the weight of breasts that came too early too eager too easy for the greasy hands watching through windows while you played with chalk on the pavement and every curve was another hook and every hair was bait and your silhouette fed pigs who’d been starving and now were feasting and you felt them chewing on you in the dark gnawing through your nightgown pressing into your mattress with their teeth and belts and god they called it natural they called it fate and you’re a woman now they said as if that explained the blood on your legs and the pain in your back and the way your father started knocking less and looking longer and the way your brother started speaking slower and the way every man in the store started counting your steps and your change like you owed them something like being visible was a crime you committed on purpose and you’re a woman now they said as you scrubbed your skin raw in the tub tried to cut the bulge off your chest with scissors tried to tie your thighs shut with phone cords tried to wear shirts too big and hopes too small because shrinking was safer and you’re a woman now they said like it meant open season like your voice was a hole and your mouth a wound and your laugh an invitation and you learned to hunch and hush and hold it in because screaming made them hungry and running made it worse and you’re a woman now they said so you learned how to let them look and not flinch how to say thank you with a dead gaze when they asked your age how to joke about it before they could how to wear lipstick like a muzzle and shoes like a warning and carry pepper spray and perfume in the same damn purse and you’re a woman now they said as if it was something to be proud of not a funeral not a feeding frenzy not a curse not a cage not a countdown not a coffin and every time I bleed I still hear it like a bell like a bomb like a brand and god if this is womanhood you can keep it you can choke on it you can carve it off me with the same hands that gave it because I never asked for this I never wanted it I just wanted to be a girl a child a person not a carcass not a promise not prey but you’re a woman now they said and I’ve been dying ever since.
y am i so unlikeable
even as a friend and daughter
I'm too tired to actually post these at different times, that are respectable and don't make me seem like I'm posting every 5 seconds
my problem is that i immediately grow attached whenever i meet an older man. not in a weird way, but in a will-you-please-be-my-father way. so, kind of in a weird way.
i feel like a hopeless stray that is always searching for that one missing piece.
i'm simultaneously too much and not enough and it's exhuasting
the “i wanna go home” never leaves my head even when i’m physically sitting in my bed
One equals one, five equals five, so obviously one does not and should not equal five because five is a higher number, right? So why can one person have more of a say than five people just because the one person has more power, that doesn't make much sense now, does it?
Why don't the five people have a bigger say than the one person? Is it because of their race, religion, gender, sexuality, the way they dress, the way they look, because they have a disability? But none of that should change someones opinion of a person, because the only thing that should change someones opinion of a person is how they act. So why would some people rather listen to a bad person just because the person is straight, cis, and white? That's not fair to the other people that wish to speak, they want to speak too. But they don't get to, some don't even have the oppurtunity to speak while others will get listened to just because they're not a woman, not a poc, not gay, not trans, don't believe in christianity, don't dress alternatively. That's not fair, that's not fair at all. Or some people will have a voice, will have opinions, would get listened to if they spoke, but they don't. Why don't they, maybe it's because they don't want to get arrested, or on trial, or to have a criminal record, or to get deported. But none of those things should happen just for speaking. Unless of course, the person speaking is a bad person. But what defines a bad person? Is a bad person someone who crossed an invisible line? Is a bad person someone who can't afford housing? Is a bad person someone who doesn't feel quite right in their own skin? Is a bad person someone who harms themselves? Is a bad person someone who isn't neurotypical? Is someone a bad person because of their race, gender, sexuality, looks, fashion style, religon, disability, mental health, or scars? No, a bad person is someone who thinks they're better than others and tries to take control, someone who bullies others, someone who raped someone, someone who killed someone, someone who commited serious crimes, someone who likes kids while being of the legal age, someone who spreads harmful opinions. But still, one person might speak for multiple people after discussing with the group, but one person should not say they are speaking for others while only speaking for themselves. Just because someone is different from you doesn't mean they're harmful. They could be the nicest person in the world and you wouldn't even know because you won't give them a chance. But still one does not equal five as five is a greater number. No one person should be considered greater than others unless the others are bad people. As said in animal farm by george orwell, "all animals are equal but some animals are more equal than others" which i fear is true for humans, although it shouldn't be. Every human deserves human rights unless they are a horrible person.
NOT MINE. ITS MY AMAZING BABY FRIEND POOPY BUTT FACE DIRTY DIAPER'S!!!💝💝😻
25 ways to be a little more punk in 2025
Cut fast fashion - buy used, learn to mend and/or make your own clothes, buy fewer clothes less often so you can save up for ethically made quality
Cancel subscriptions - relearn how to pirate media, spend $10/month buying a digital album from a small artist instead of on Spotify, stream on free services since the paid ones make you watch ads anyway
Green your community - there's lots of ways to do this, like seedbombing or joining a community garden or organizing neighborhood trash pickups
Be kind - stop to give directions, check on stopped cars, smile at kids, let people cut you in line, offer to get stuff off the high shelf, hold the door, ask people if they're okay
Intervene - learn bystander intervention techniques and be prepared to use them, even if it feels awkward
Get closer to your food - grow it yourself, can and preserve it, buy from a farmstand, learn where it's from, go fishing, make it from scratch, learn a new ingredient
Use opensource software - try LibreOffice, try Reaper, learn Linux, use a free Photoshop clone. The next time an app tries to force you to pay, look to see if there's an opensource alternative
Make less trash - start a compost, be mindful of packaging, find another use for that plastic, make it a challenge for yourself!
Get involved in local politics - show up at meetings for city council, the zoning commission, the park district, school boards; fight the NIMBYs that always show up and force them to focus on the things impacting the most vulnerable folks in your community
DIY > fashion - shake off the obsession with pristine presentation that you've been taught! Cut your own hair, use homemade cosmetics, exchange mani/pedis with friends, make your own jewelry, duct tape those broken headphones!
Ditch Google - Chromium browsers (which is almost all of them) are now bloated spyware, and Google search sucks now, so why not finally make the jump to Firefox and another search like DuckDuckGo? Or put the Wikipedia app on your phone and look things up there?
Forage - learn about local edible plants and how to safely and sustainably harvest them or go find fruit trees and such accessible to the public.
Volunteer - every week tutoring at the library or once a month at the humane society or twice a year serving food at the soup kitchen, you can find something that matches your availability
Help your neighbors - which means you have to meet them first and find out how you can help (including your unhoused neighbors), like elderly or disabled folks that might need help with yardwork or who that escape artist dog belongs to or whether the police have been hassling people sleeping rough
Fix stuff - the next time something breaks (a small appliance, an electronic, a piece of furniture, etc.), see if you can figure out what's wrong with it, if there are tutorials on fixing it, or if you can order a replacement part from the manufacturer instead of trashing the whole thing
Mix up your transit - find out what's walkable, try biking instead of driving, try public transit and complain to the city if it sucks, take a train instead of a plane, start a carpool at work
Engage in the arts - go see a local play, check out an art gallery or a small museum, buy art from the farmer's market
Go to the library - to check out a book or a movie or a CD, to use the computers or the printer, to find out if they have other weird rentals like a seed library or luggage, to use meeting space, to file your taxes, to take a class, to ask question
Listen local - see what's happening at local music venues or other events where local musicians will be performing, stop for buskers, find a favorite artist, and support them
Buy local - it's less convenient than online shopping or going to a big box store that sells everything, but try buying what you can from small local shops in your area
Become unmarketable - there are a lot of ways you can disrupt your online marketing surveillance, including buying less, using decoy emails, deleting or removing permissions from apps that spy on you, checking your privacy settings, not clicking advertising links, and...
Use cash - go to the bank and take out cash instead of using your credit card or e-payment for everything! It's better on small businesses and it's untraceable
Give what you can - as capitalism churns on, normal shmucks have less and less, so think about what you can give (time, money, skills, space, stuff) and how it will make the most impact
Talk about wages - with your coworkers, with your friends, while unionizing! Stop thinking about wages as a measure of your worth and talk about whether or not the bosses are paying fairly for the labor they receive
Think about wealthflow - there are a thousand little mechanisms that corporations and billionaires use to capture wealth from the lower class: fees for transactions, interest, vendor platforms, subscriptions, and more. Start thinking about where your money goes, how and where it's getting captured and removed from our class, and where you have the ability to cut off the flow and pass cash directly to your fellow working class people

I'm assuming you have all heard of the ai video of trump addressing the nation. Well, i just want to come here and spew my opinion on it. First off, i believe it's utterly gross for the literal GOVERNMENT to use fake and artificial intelligence to address a whole entire country. i feel like that truly shows how little they care about us; this also shows how little effort they are willing to put into making this country a better, safer place. The video shows clear signs of ai. If you take a look at the flag, there are two stars right next to eachother. I suppose that could be played off as a fold in the flag. Pay attention to Trump's hair. In multiple instances in the video, his hair "lags" and glitches. The same thing occurs to his mouth while he's speaking. His blazer had no lapels. Lapels are a piece on a blazer connecting to the collar. The ai also sped up his talking. Which, being as old as trump is, doesn't happen naturally overnight. The use of ai also altered his hands and covered up his age and health concerns. Why I, and many others believe the use of ai within the government is an issue, is because it portrays us as dumb. The government is simply lying to us. They want us to be naïve. The use of ai in the government is inappropriate. Ai makes it extremely hard to separate lies from reality and truth. I see the use of ai in that video as a mock of our government and country. It is sloppy to need ai to fix the mistakes and concerns of the U.S. GOVERNMENT. Correct me if any of my information is wrong. Please reblog if you agree with me. Thank you for your time!
