peter is warm against him. that’s the only thing jason can think as peter pins him against the wall. he’s warm and he looks desperate, blue eyes staring up at jason with a fierceness he isn’t used to from the smaller man. he’s warm and solid and jason finds himself not wanting to leave. he wants nothing more than to stay here with peter, to bury the two of them in blankets and forget anything is happening.

said eyes shutter at the words, expression carefully blank. he knows they are, objectively, very pretty. an unnatural shade of green that seems to sparkle in low light. on anyone else, he’d be fascinated. he’d want to stare into their eyes for ages, to write sonnets about them.

but on him they serve as a bitter reminder of all he’s been through. the color of the pit that gave him his life back and in return left him so full of rage he couldn’t see straight. a reminder of his death, his rebirth, and all his mistakes after.

and yet here she is. an alien princess insulting him and paying him compliment in the same breath. telling him he matters, that he’s important to her.

jason gives her a weak smile. ❛ you deserve kindness, ❜ he tells her. and he means it with all his heart. she deserves the best things in the universe and jason knows he can’t even hope to give them to her.
