ugh. on the one hand tumblr introducing age verification for people in countries where thats come into law recently was probably inevitable and outside of their control. on the other hand the fact tumblr is so bad at identifying mature posts IS within their control and it really adds insult to injury. like idc if its a faulty algorithm or malicious user reports or shitty admins, at least when bluesky asks for my ID its because i clicked on a post with sex in it. the last mature marked post i saw on tumblr was a photo of megan thee stallion in cosplay. dont piss me off.

i really think so much of love is giving up and taking up space sooooooooo so deeply i believe this . giving up your seat or moving your stupid mugs so that the person you love can fit some of their own in the cupboard you’re sharing. scooting aside to make space on the couch or surrendering some of your blanket on a cold night. or learning how to navigate a space with two bodies in it without colliding. feeling comfortable enough to crawl into your lover’s lap when they’re working or to smush your favorite beverage or fruits into a fridge that’s already overloaded with groceries. rearranging said groceries so more of their favorite things can fit in. etcetcetc. learning that space isn’t rigid and set in stone but instead something like liquid. and you are allowed to cup it in your palms and let someone else drink from it. and you are allowed to be greedy and drink it yourself. it isn’t that scary
