    Beverly stuggled against the restrains binding her, she didn’t want to be here, not like this. Who was this woman and why had she taken her? Her words just made Bev stop for a second to stare at the girl. “My family isn’t like a normal family. My father hurt me and more, so no, I don’t know what it’s like to have a normal family.”Did she truly know what love was? With the string of highly abusive boyfriends she thought not. “Is that why you kidnapped me? You want a family? Just let me go and -- I’ll be the best sister.” There was a hint of sympathy in her voice, she understood how lonely it could be wishing for a real family.

defeated or unfazed? the question of the hour. jonathan had frantically searched and then mindlessly explored, dragging his feet on pavement and puddles until they finally stood still. it had been an hour or more of walking, and still the daylight was headed nowhere. perhaps the pursuit of clarity was hopeless here as well. whether or not that was true, his legs were tired, the faces around him weren’t ones he knew and there was nothing to lose from testing his luck. “could i get a smoke?” he asked the first person he saw, fists in his pockets as he subtly felt around. “i have like… quarters or,” his thumb twitched on another shape, “dimes, if you want.” he didn’t know what the protocol was here, but he hoped it wouldn’t cost him a bill.

Her lips twitched into a friendly smile when someone asked for a cigarette, one thing she could help with. Putting her own between her lips and biting into the filter to keep it in place she pulled a pack out of her back jean pocket and held the pack out to him. “Most people wouldn’t take that anymore, this isn’ the 80′s,”Beverly remarked, sounding a little dismayed but nodded. “Just take one.”

“Last thing I remember is dying for the bloody millionth time.” It was getting old, dying but for as long as his brothers lived, he knew it’d be never ending. But thankfully now in New York he was away from any other Mikaelson as far as he knew. “Nah, darling, how could I? I’ve been around for centuries.”

    “You’ve died before? Was it...what was it like?”She asked, always curious.  “Centuries? How old are you exactly?”Beverly asked, mostly forgetting about her own situation more curious about him now.

Strange was one word for it, turning up out of the blue without a clue as to how or why, especially since remembered himself on his deathbed surrounded by those who actually did care. “Just a resurrection.” He shrugged, gaze landing on the girl. “And turning up in New York without reason. If I was going travelling, this city is not one I’d usually go for. Beggars can’t be choosers.” He supposed anyway. “Why’d you ask, love?”

  “A resurrection?”She questioned, licking at the corner of her lips, that was certainly something. “This isn’t the right time period...I’m from the 80′s. It’s --- odd.”She remarked, looking over at a televison that was running. “I bet you think I’m totally nutso.”

“You mean besides tons of fictional characters showing up out of the blue?” He asked, head tilting slightly as he eyed her. “You included.” Not being able to help the roll of the eyes as he had just met another he wasn’t all too fond of. Sure she went through a lot and he felt for her but that didn’t change the fact she was fictional and he was a fandom hunter. 

   --Fictional? Herself included? That was a shock to the system. “--You must be mistaken, how could I be fictional? I’m right here...I would know if I was fictional.”

Coraline had her own paranoia when first arriving but New York seemed to be treating her well so far, so she soon let it die down. “Is everything okay?” She felt the need to ask, as why she asked such a question was running through her mind. Her curiosity getting the better of her.

   Bev was quiet for a moment before nodding slightly. Maybe it was nothing more than a strange occurance. “Everything is fine --”More or less, less being the real way she was feeling. “Maybe I’m just in a dream.”

But she could tell the question made the other uncomfortable so she wasn’t going to ask anything else about it. Tilting her head as she tried to follow what the girl was saying. It sounded like some monster from a horror movie. “Is It some kind of animal or something? I don’t really follow.”

    “No, it’s okay, it’s been a long time.”She remarked, her tongue slipping over her lips before a small smile tugged on her lips. “Shape shifter. It’s complicated.”She mused, brushing hair out of her face. “Adults normally don’t remember IT.”

As soon as she asked, Richie got out of the way and motioned for her to go ahead of him, allowing Bev to get in front of him. “ Ladies first, I insist. “ he replied. It was less of an act of chivalry and more of one of cowardice.
