I always love Hannibal talking about death. I personally love this point of view, accepting death is freeing, you know that you’ll be gone from this life forever, so you just focus on “now”, not the past, not the long-to-come future but now, because it’s the only time you live in and have the control of, that you can change things in it; but also, it hurts me to know, not because that my ego can’t accept not existing; I don’t believe that there is a life after death, so for me, there won’t be a day when everyone will be judged and pay their debts, so knowing that all the bad had done won’t be punished really bothers me. We all know that there is no pure justice in the world, and it’s not just about the justice system, even the concept of pure justice doesn’t exist because right and wrong, good and bad, they’re all subjective, so it’s just… all over the place. So, the only way I can cope with these are probably my urge to help people and trying to be kind, I’m not an angel of course, we’re all shitty people sometimes, but I’m trying to actually live in this way. No one deserves to be treated like shit out of blue, and if they had, I’d like to help, and I think that’s why I wanna become a psychologist, and I’m not going to reject it, my “animalistic” side wants that because it likes to be the superior one, it enables you to understand people better than themselves, but also I really want to help people and make them feel better, I guess it’s how I am trying to find a way to accept life and death, by bringing justice to life in my own little way, and that is also what exactly Hannibal does, he brings justice to the world, but he’s doing it for himself, by punishing the rude ones and rewarding himself, and I didn’t even plan to talk about this but here it goes, Hannibal’s all idea of living was based on this, and then Will came, and Hannibal just left aside his way of living that he did for years and surrendered to FBI for Will, because now his philosophy of life was less important than him, and now, the biggest reward for him was Will.
