A short story of my old dog. 🐕
I got to thinking about this after the Ask I received yesterday. This is Sam. 👇
Sam was a smaller German Shepherd and he was very smart. I taught him that if he asked quietly for a treat, he could have it. If I said in a low voice “gimme a boof”, that meant to ask for the treat in a very low “roof”.
It didn’t always work though. Many times he would forget the lesson until he didn’t get the treat and I would have to say- “no, I said gimme a boof” after which he would pitter patter in the ground in excitement and try to contain himself. It went like this-
Me: Gimme a boof.
Sam: WOOF (at 120 decibels)
Me: No, gimme a boof. (repeat ask if needed)
That was about 40 years ago, I still miss that old goofball. 😀
You got me thinking Bill. I dug deep into my old brain and the best I can figure is I’ve had 11 dogs in my life. They were all special in their own way. Some were rescues, older, so they weren’t around for too many years, then some I had for 10+ years, one, Ralph, 17years! As I was picking my brain to remember, I could picture every one of them and remember something special about each of them. Thanks 🙏 for that!! It’s been awhile.
