Well there is actually, they’re friends. They’re friends and they love each other and it doesn’t mean any less than if they were dating and they loved each other. They’re friends and that means devotion and affection and loyalty and love, and there is no point in which that love reaches a level that immediately indicates that their relationship must be romantic.

So the Isle of the Lost gets everything from Auradon right? And all of it is leftovers. Worn down and second hand at best. So their clothing would all be last season at the newest... And all of them wear leather primarily... Like- almost exclusively leather...

Did... Did Auradon go through an edgy leather phase???

i headcanon that when someone on the Isle had a sore throat for many days in a row, they secretly cursed Ursula because they believed she had something to do with it.

it made a lot of sense to them, because she had already ripped someone's voice out of their throat, so she could very well give someone a sore throat

Uma and Harry just laughed at the stupid rumor, since there wasn't even magic on the Isle

it was all fun and games until Harry's throat started to hurt for a whole week. Uma kept a close eye on her mother the followed days, and swore she saw her laughing in the corners

You all know that au where you can't die on the isle, at least not permanently? Well what if every time one of the vk's die, they come back a little different. Like Jay died fairly often in his youth, but not so much as an adult because whenever he came back, he was a little taller, a little stronger than he should have been, considering the poor nutrition on the Isle. Mal has died many times, almost entirely at the hands of her mother, in an attempt to make her look more fae, but Mal always came out much more of a mix of her parents, with purple hair and pointed ears, but also pointed teeth and eyes that perfectly match Hades, and a splotchy skin that was much greyer in places than her own green skin, which enrages Maleficent. The Evil Queen wanted Evie to remain beautiful, so she tried desperately to keep her alive. However, she accidentally starved Evie to death one day, trying to get her to lose weight, and Evie came back with blue hair. The Evil Queen often make's snide remarks about the color of her hair, but Evie refuses to die it, her small act of rebellion to her mother. Carlos has died a lot, a side effect of being a runt on the Isle, and his sense of smell is stronger than it should be, and his curly hair hides a pair of small horns that grow each time he dies. The gang has also noticed his eyes have started to reflect light in the dark, and his pupils are dilating more than they should be able to.

No because the Beast is the real villain of the Descendants franchise. You’re telling me he not only brought all of the dead villains back to life after they’d already been defeated, repeatedly putting all of Auradon at risk, but he also exiled them to an island to live in poverty, along with their innocent children? And he never thought that this might be inhumane, not to mention dangerous and a generally bad idea?? What’s he on????

Following my redesign of Mal, here’s my take on Evie from Descendants! 👑 I wanted her look to be contrast Mal and be a lot more polished since she’s royalty. I also leaned more into prim and princess-like based on her personality in the movie, but still maintaining dark elements in her aesthetic. I gave her a little skull makeup bag as a nod to the skull in her mother’s dungeon from the original film!

i headcanon like a LOT of the isle to be illiterate and innumerate, and to have handwriting that's more or less equivalent to a toddler. ik that it's canon that the isle had a school, but for kids who prided themselves for being non conformist and rule breaking, i doubt that any of them actually went to school that often - especially for those that had to spend time stocking their parents stores and what not. and i don't think the quality of education would've been that high on the isle anyway, considering that canonically the villains are bad at anything productive or constructive for a good society

for instance, i think that carlos and evie are the only ones fully literate in the core4. i think carlos would've been one of those kids that just taught themself to read at like. age 3 or 4. the same way he ended up teaching himself how to hack and whatever. and evie was homeschooled by the evil queen who probably would've taught her how to write because it's important in the courtship process for writing letters to her prince, then for writing declarations and whatever as a queen

i think that mal wouldn't have a reading level any higher than like. a 6 year old. which is when she like made her little isle gang and what not. i think the only words she could read and spell correctly would be the words in the spell book, but not because she learnt how to read words phonetically, she just memorised what each word was, in the way that it's reported that gen alpha are being taught to read. but once she came to auradon and saw it necessary to fit in there (especially as ben's gf) she suddenly became a lot more self conscious about her reading level and spelling ability

i think jay would've had a similar if not worse reading level than mal. and i think uma would have memorised words similar to mal, but instead the ones on her mother's menu, rather than being able to read or write properly

there is also no way in hell that gil is even remotely literate

carlos: yes, but not just blue, though. when she's really upset, they desaturate to a grey color and if she's exceptionally happy, they shine like sunlight on the calm sea

evie: and when was the last time she smiled?

carlos: last night at about 1:57 am, when i said something that made her laugh

jay: right, and when's my birthday?

carlos: .....
