Ground pork and beef are mixed with barbecue sauce, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper to make this Hog and Hominy Burger, which is a tasty mix of Memphis flavors. It tastes like Memphis every time you eat it, with cheddar cheese, crispy bacon, and classic side dishes.
Ingredients: 1 lb ground pork. 1 lb ground beef. 1/2 cup finely chopped onion. 1/4 cup breadcrumbs. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1/4 cup barbecue sauce. 1 tsp smoked paprika. 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper. Salt and black pepper to taste. 4 hamburger buns. 4 slices of cheddar cheese. 4 slices of crispy bacon. Sliced pickles, lettuce, and tomato for garnish.
Instructions: In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground pork, ground beef, chopped onion, breadcrumbs, minced garlic, barbecue sauce, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly incorporated. Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions and shape them into burger patties. Preheat your grill or stovetop skillet to medium-high heat. Grill or cook the burger patties for about 5-7 minutes per side, or until they reach your desired level of doneness. During the last few minutes of cooking, add a slice of cheddar cheese to each patty and allow it to melt. While the burgers are cooking, toast the hamburger buns on the grill or in a toaster until they are lightly browned. Once the burgers are cooked and the cheese is melted, remove them from the heat. To assemble the burgers, place a burger patty on the bottom half of each toasted bun. Top with a slice of crispy bacon, sliced pickles, lettuce, and tomato. Place the top half of the bun on each burger to complete the assembly. Serve the Memphis Hog and Hominy Burger hot with your favorite side dishes. Enjoy your Memphis-inspired burger!
