🍏 about my f/o's fears
The ocean and deep bodies of water. It's not an irrational fear when there is at least one mosasaur and dunkleosteus. I have other de-extinct animals that I speculate were released, but the two listed above are validating enough to avoid deep bodies of water.
I also think it's a fun concept for her to be named after a sunken/lost ship and then have that referenced as one of her major fears. It's such a small detail, but I do feel it's also justifiable to her character. For Lyubov, the ocean represents a direct loss of any power they'd typical feel on land. The vast emptiness of dark depth, the inability to hide or fight back, and feeling entirely vulnerable.

As a secondary and related dream, Lyu desires absolute independence. Red being held against her is the only reason Lyu hasn't been able to retire and live quietly in isolation.
🥬 about my f/o's best kept secret
Maybe not a secret to us, but Lyubov is so soft around the few souls they allow close to them. They keep the rest of the world at arm's length to emotionally protect themselves, but once that wall begins to crack, they're nothing but vulnerable.

eeee thank you!!! I love this phase of their relationship when I've finished narratively torturing them, and they can just live quietly together in the middle of nowhere with their unruly child.
Lyubov is so talented at many different things, but they have always struggled in the kitchen. Baking isn't something that can be rushed and Lyu doesn't have the patience or passion for it. Thankful Lucifer enjoys the art of cooking.
Their home is only a two hour drive to the nearest town, so intentional, planned trips to town are when most of the basic grocery shopping is organized. At this point, Lucifer is still semi-recognizable, so she rarely makes the drive more than once a month to maintain a sense of privacy. Their freezer stays stocked both with wild game and meat raised and processed at home. Lyu was first trained as a butcher before beginning her career as a contract killer. I do like to imagine they have a little greenhouse on the property that Amber loves to play in and are able to get some fresh vegetables from. Appletrees and strawberry bushes are scattered along the property simply because those are Lucifer's favorites.
F/Os catching you right before you go to sit next to them and grabbing you by your waist/hips to pull you into their lap instead……. And then either leaving their hands there or wrapping their arms around you and nuzzling their face into your hair or neck with a little hum of happiness…….

Eeeee thank you thank you. My lyuuuuu. Another long post sorry, I have a lot of thought on my future wife and those dinos. I end up talking about the fankid a lot too but that's the chapter of LyuLu I'm fixating the most on lately.
🍋 about my f/o's pets
The girls!!!! I love talking about the raptor children.
There are 4 in the original pack, but as the timeline creeps forward, the pack grows. I won't talk too much about Lady, Starboard, Port or Princess because they're more akin to ocs at this point. Unless I really dive into the fankid's specific story on this blog they're not super relevant. I just love them and they also rotate frequently in my head.
One of the things I find the most interesting about a lot of working line breeds of dog is that they tend to pick a favorite person. They tend to get along with the entire family but fixate on one person. For Ghost that person was The Hand/ler. She's since grown into a very capable and strong leader, but as a chick she struggled to thrive. Something in her genetics prevented her from maintaining her temperature and thus couldn't digest her meals like her sisters. Unable to stomach her food, she was often listless and struggled to keep up with her sisters. While her sisters quickly grew and played together, Lyubov would carry Ghost against her chest to share heat, carefully dripping nutrient-rich broth into her mouth for the first three months of her life. Once she was large enough to keep a steady temperature, Ghost's personality would quickly manifest, but she has always been a 'mommy's girl'. Ghost is also the most task-trained of the pack and helps with interrupting harmful behaviors, deep pressure therapy, creating space, and disrupting nightmares and anxiety. Not as quick as her sisters, Ghost's role in the hunt is to communicate strategy, and once the target is herded into the killing field, she leads the attack.
Panthera is often described as the most bloodthirsty of the four, but it's entirely play-driven. Unfortunately, she plays with her food like a giant kitten. She's prone to taking the most difficult routes to a target for no other reason than for fun. Her style of pursuit, release, and pursuit isn't unlike how a cat might play with its prey before delivering the killing bite. When hunting together, it's her role to herd or taunt a target into the pack's killing field. She also has the best sense of humor out of the sisters. When important objects such as remotes or toothbrushes are stolen and hidden, she is often the culprit. Her purrs and happy chatter are similiar to a Kookaburras and almost sounds like laughter when her plan works. When bored, Panthera will purposely see how she can twist order into something else. Her favorite when asked to track a scent on a piece of clothing is to run off and fetch a bottle of laundry detergent instead of locking onto the human scent. Occasionally she ignores an alert to prolong the mission. Of the four, Panthera has bonded the closest with Lucifer who will humor her games and is helpless to resist the dinosaurs 'sad puppy' style of begging.
I hate to say Tiger is the least affectionate of the bunch, but she's entirely fixated on business. Her prey drive is as strong as her toy drive and, when it came to hunting, Lyu found Tiger to be the easiest to train for the work. This raptor is just as happy chasing down living targets as she is chasing a tennis ball across a field. Unlike Panthera who's favorite part of the hunt is getting to her prey, Tiger enjoys the chase. Without her sisters she will run her prey to death before laying a claw on them. Tiger is the most naturally skittish of the sisters and will only tolerate being pet or cuddled. Despite being the easiest to train for their work, Tiger is also the most destructive. When bored, she will chew on furniture, dig underneath buildings or harass the local wildlife. She needs extensive and daily mental stimulation to stay content. In retirement Tiger would become extremely fixated on gaurding the livestock. She doesn't actually care about the goats, but enjoys stalking and chasing predators that attempt to get to them. Her goal is to chase, not kill, and Tiger is content to lie amongst the herd while she waits. The goats adore her and it's very cute when the baby kids climb on her in the field. Also interesting to note is that of the orginal pack, Tiger bonds closest to Amber if for no other reason than the kid enjoys being chased/playing fetch.
Red was separated from her sisters as an adolescent and is the most independent of the pack. She would rather watch the other raptors figure out a task before attempting it herself. Her loyalty is with the pack, but she is apprehensive around people as a result of extensive BioSyn training protocols. Unlike her sister, she refuse to sleep confinded indoors. She's very slowly relearning how to behave as an independent dinosaur and her insecurity leads to anxious behaviors. Her intelligence is equal to that of Ghosts and continues to fight with her sister for power in the pack.
🍐 about my f/o's dreams
This headcanon stings after gushing about the dinokids. The majority of Lyubov's life ambitions have been trying to chase down loved ones and mend their broken sense of family.
As child she dreamed of finding a way to bring her mother back home, and to find her father. As a kid, they held tightly to the belief that they could help repair their parents' fractured relationship before understanding who their parents were and that was never a possibility. I've spent a lot of time considering her family and how those relationships shaped her, I just never know how to organize my thoughts.
Shortly after leaving their childhood home they acquire their raptors. Unfortunately, they only had their raptors for about a year before they were violently taken from her to complete the traumatic process of laser training. Her biological father's involvement in B/ioSyns training is another topic.
As long as Red was held behind, Lyu could be kept on an increasingly short leash with her employer. Within the same hour Red returned to them, Lucifer would leave them.
In the final phase of their story, Lyu holds their child extra close because they can't imagine a world where their family wouldn't be taken from them again. Until that point, Lyu is constantly adjusting to loss or preparing to be hurt again. Her dreams have been to keep her loved ones safe and she struggles with feeling like she's frequently failing them.
🍑 about my f/o's bad habits
It would be a shorter list to recite her good habits/silly.
I'm going to stick to the more lighthearted bad habits, I go back and forth about how much of her history of substance abuse I want to explore on this page. It's relevant to their development and has influenced how they navigate their life, but I also want to be careful and sensitive about how I handle that aspect of their character.
The work shoes on the bed or up on the couch should be considered a federal crime. Frustrates the hell out of Lucifer, who needs to change into 'home' clothes as she walks through the door. Sometimes she'll purposely do it to taunt Luci into helping her shed the extra layers.
Owns one, cheap dusty plate. Everything else is disposable plastic or paper. Between work and taking care of her animals, Lyu barely has the energy to feed herself and tries to cut out as many chores as she can. Keeping dishes is just one of those little things they find to be pointless. To their credit. As a bachlor they did own two coffee mugs. Whether they bought them at one point as a pair or it came with the RV has yet to be determined.
Speaking of the kitchen, they know which meat is safe for human consumption and which meat is strictly for dinosaurs but it's important to note Lyubov has never labled a container in their life. The paper bag in the fridge is equally likely to be a lunch packed with the sweetest intention of their girlfriend or the head of a sheep for the animals to chew on later as enrichment. Lucifer no longer makes any assumptions and, while dating, brings 100% of the ingredients when they want to do the cooking.
Pens, the handles of tools, and the sleeves of her shirts all bare of evidence of her habit of chewing. Her favorite objects to bite down on are the cord of her whistle or the handle of her favorite knife when she's not running her tongue along the edge of the blade.
Living alone as an adult, the first time they used a fitted sheet was 10 minutes before the first time Lucifer would be welcomed into her bed. When not trying to impress her partner, Lyu sleeps with one blanket and under a pile of her oversized dino kids. If the bed is too inconvenient, Lyu is just as likely to fall asleep on anything else.
Will chew on raw coffee beans and snack on raw pasta.

🍊 about my f/o's clothing style
Her fashion is certainly unique. A touchy sunject /silly.
I headcanon that the fabric of her jumpsuit is thick and almost denim-like. The raptors often attempt to play using their jaws and claws,the fabric offers a protective barrier against the well-intentioned nips from her animals. Along her hips and at her breast, there are numerous secure pockets that secure various tools, knives, and small treats for training. The dark gray of the fabric masks fresh blood and dirt that may accumulate while hunting. It's not that they care about being seen covered in blood, but they do get less panicked looks if they need to duck into a late-night convenience store when it's harder to see.
Outside of work, the intention in stocking her closet is largely the same. They own a concerningly large amount of cargo pants in various phases of disrepair. Tiger is particularly prone to grabbing at loose fabric by her ankles (tucking the bottom hem into her boots has long since become a necessary habit) or tearing at clothes left in hampers, pursuing the lingering scent of a treat. Some tears have been patched by hand others are largely ignored. Loose-fitting tanks serve both as casual tops and layering pieces for her work jumpsuit. Their goal is to terrorize their targets, and none of their clothing is deliberately flattering. A handful of plain oversized T-shirts and various sweatshirts/hoodies from various tourist traps bought purely out of necessity while traveling. There's a gray Roswell hoodie with little silly cartoon aliens that's particularly cozy they frequently grab for.Just a cute hc, but once Lucifer starts regularly visiting Lyu starts buying and leaving out softer sweatpants and tees for Luci to 'steal'.
🥭 about where my f/o currently lives
Lyubov needs to frequently, and quickly, relocate depending on the needs of her work (or to avoid an area she's given too much attention to). She has an RV designed by B/ioSyn to navigate the dense woodlands of national parks and wildlife reserves that they use as their primary residence. It was an obvious bribe, but a convenient one. The raptors need room to run and wild game to keep them occupied.
In the latter half of the LyuLu, after business with BioS/yn is cut, they abandon the RV and settle down with Lucifer on a remote goat ranch deep within the mountains. It's more permanent but gives the raptors room to run and the couple complete privacy.

Lyu only pretends to be immune to nostalgia. Memories of their Grandmother's walnut filled štruklji or potica haunt them. They've been unsuccessfully trying to replicate her recipe for years. Their pride is the only obstacle to calling her and just asking, or returning to their childhood home again.

rewatching jurassic park, i realized that one of my favorite details of the whole movie is all the merchandise. they haven’t completed a full safety inspection of the park yet. hammond and others keep talking about things that they’ll do later.
