Intro

Hello, important acronyms/labels: historian, liberal, AuADHD, cisgender man, het?? (unclear at present), switch? (also unclear without more practice), kinky, horny (constantly, its mildly irksome) and single (at present).

So, a little more about me. I am relatively new to kink, bdsm, polyamory, dating and sex. I am a late bloomer only really started exploring from the age 28ish till now. Before that though, I have had something of a special interest in sex, and I am always happy to learn more. This blog is a kinky/sexy side blog for me to write smutty things, reblog gifs or pics I think are hot or interesting, and otherwise explore this side of myself semi publicly.

I do not share nudes of myself (I have associated trauma with that particular act), as such I will not ask anyone to share their lovely pics of themselves with me. I have a policy of not performing a kink or sex act on someone else that I myself am unwilling to do.

i get that americans love their cultural imperialism, but it really does piss me off that june is “international” pride month just because something happened in the united states.

in aotearoa, june isn’t our pride, it’s theirs. marsha p johnson and sylvia rivera are their historical figures, not ours. the phrase that “you owe your rights to Black trans women” is true there, but here we owe our rights to (mostly) Māori historical figures. i have the freedoms i do because of the legacy of an entirely different set of people operating in an entirely different context at entirely different times.

But because of american cultural imperialism, most queer people in Aotearoa don’t even know our own queer history. Carmen Rupe, Ngahuia Te Awekotuku, the Dorian Society, Gillian Laundon, Georgina Beyer, and the Wolfenden Association are some of our queer history. We should know their names! we should know what they did for us! but because of the power of the american imperial machine, we don’t.

our national pride month should be july, the month that the Homosexual Law Reform Act passed in 1986. our two largest cities hold their pride festivals in february and march, respectively. american queer history has very little (or nothing, depending on who you ask) to do with our queer history. anecdotally, from my own queries, queer youth in aotearoa know more about american queer history than our own.

anyway, happy pride, americans. i’m truly sorry that most of you don’t see the negative impact your nation’s culture has on the rest of the world. and to the rest of the world reading this, try searching for your own country and culture’s queer history, don’t accept the american narratives as your own. we deserve our own histories divorced from the cultural hegemony of the USA.

hi mx. batman gateway drug, just wanted to thank you for talking abt not having orgasms be the “main goal” of sex/masturbation. i’d never considered that before and felt a lot of pressure to sort of achieve that, but seeing your post made me think.

i’ve since taken an interest in my own sexual education, and through many experiments, other sex educators, and just sort of reading ABOUT sex that it’s so much less stressful when taking orgasm out of the ‘nesseccary’ aspects of it—and going further that way, too. i’ve let go of the really ingrained notion that sex has to be/look/feel a certain way, and i enjoy it WAY more now.
