I haven't even finished episode 3 of "Half Man," and I'm already thinking, "God damn, the familial manipulation of the problem child who chooses reactivity and abuse, being praised and prioritized over others, is so incredibly triggering, given that exact dynamic was how my older brother was with me and the family."

At least I've accepted all my kinks, given my past. I like making posts every so often simply being honest so others in similar situations don't judge themselves. That's why I appreciate Richard Gardd's honest exploration and expressions in his work.

So many of us who've experienced something traumatic in some way fear honest deep diving in a remote direction, but that's exactly what helped me finally feel empowered in accepting myself fully, honestly. It's not perfect in real life, it's not easy, and it certainly isn't "clean" or always "correct." The main thing is having a safe place to actually be honest in your exploration of that painful area.

This is just me making an "I love you and you're valid" post to anyone and everyone who's going through their own stuff, needing affirmation that it's okay and they're okay and valid. Writing, whether you share it or not, is immensely helpful always, regardless. Embrace whatever form of creative exploration of life and yourself and others that naturally feels right and feel proud in that.

I know, being into dark romance and psychological thrillers, especially psychosexual, can feel as if people already write you off and isolate you from your peers as writers, but we matter and contribute amazing work too. It's like the show said in episode 3: good writing is often just learning how to write your own story in a way familiar enough that you can actually articulate the essence of the feeling to evoke it in the reader. And you can only really do that when utilizing what you know.

I'm finishing up episode 5 as we speak, and it's so interesting how men navigate love through shared trauma and enduring it as a form of trust. In all my writing, I think I've solidified the understanding of some of us, especially our interpretations of interpersonal relationships being geared toward this sort of understanding. Moreover, the idea that love is really trust at its heart. Even with reasons not to, a shared trauma can outweigh reason, and love is, if nothing else, always operating outside of reason and logic.

Thought I'd make a reblog keeping them together. I did it without lines for the desktop just to appreciate the full forest feel. I liked it with the lines. I ended up doing no lines for the desktop version. But with the lines, I thought it had a certain nature that says "fuck you" to symmetry, while also creating it in the same breath as it defies it.

Chapter 1: A Grave for Two

Summary:

I believe this simply shows how a name can (even within a family) develop to be spelled differently along the tree or from migration. I've had this issue myself with my Lithuanian last name. It's pretty common. (The divergence, not my name. That is actually rare AF.)
