You knew that from the moment you woke up to the time you stepped out of your room, someone was bound to attack you. Whether it was your younger brother or your best friend, you were never surprised. Your best friend, Katsuki Bakugou, had been in your life quite literally from the time you were carried into your house two days after you were born, up until now. His family had moved into their house the day you were born and surprisingly they had a little boy that was just a few months older than you. You two had known each other from diapers and playdates your mothers would set up, and you were both now seniors in high school.
a/n: hi omg sorry this is literally like ??? so many months late !!!! i swore to myself when i posted the first chapter that i wanted to stay with this fic but regardless - here’s chapter two ! i hope u all enjoy, like and reblogs are always appreciated and will help others see that this chapter is out <3

Bakugou wandered up the street again. His feet ached from the sheer amount of times he had started and finished the walk in front of the shop windows. It was his fault and he knew it. He shouldn’t have waited until the last minute to get a Christmas gift for Kirishima. It was too late to be as picky as he was, but ever the perfectionist, he was trying to find the perfect gift for his best friend. His red haired friend was easy enough to please but Bakugou wanted it to be the best damn gift his friend had ever received. The cold weather pecked his cheeks and his nose almost felt numb, Bakugou shoved his hands in the pockets of his jacket to ward away the bitter chill.
People littered the streets and filled up every inch of the area that his eyes could see. Bakugou was slowly getting frustrated over the fact that there were so many people out and also last minute shopping. He wanted to be done with this so he could go home and be done with the whole thing. Bakugou’s eyes stopped at the store that he hadn’t checked out yet, his legs moving towards it before he could tell them too. The wisp of artificial wind hit his face as the door swung open and he let it shut behind him as the warmth from inside the store soon sunk into his bones. The door was soon swung open again in a hurry and the cold air washed over his backside, he turned around before he could really look at anything in the store.
“Close the damn door, it’s cold.” The words came out of his mouth before he could stop himself and the shorter girl stopped messing with her coat as she locked eyes with him. The girl laughed and closed the door all the way as per his request. Bakugou followed her movements and stepped out of the way when she sidestepped him. Her hair was hidden under a dark colored beanie and he saw the tip of her nose tinted pink from the cold weather. Bakugou moved away from the entrance and slowly let his eyes take in everything in the store. He was trying with all his might to find a meaningful gift. He walked and took everything in the Christmas smelling shop, the girl from earlier was looking at small trinkets on shelves near him. His feet moved in her direction and he stopped behind her as she picked up a snowglobe.
He debated on whether or not he should apologize to the girl for a few moments. A small guilty voice reminded him it was the holidays and he inwardly groaned. “Sorry by the way, I didn’t mean to yell at you or anything.” Her smaller fingers clutched the glass piece a bit as his voice disrupted the serenity of the shop. Quiet instrumental holiday music played in the background as the girl smiled at him.
“It’s alright! Don’t worry about it, I’m not a fan of the cold either.” Bakugou could now get a good look at the girl in front of him and he hated how he noticed that her cheeks were the color of pale roses. The sweater and jacket she wore seemed cozy and he now wished he wore a bit thicker of a coat instead of just a long sleeve shirt and padded jacket.
“I don’t mind the cold. It just was colder than I thought it was going to be today.” She scoffed and placed the snowglobe back in its original spot, he followed her as she moved on to the next column of shelves. He shoved his hands in his pockets and locked his eyes on her. She seemed to be doing the same thing as him, last minute shopping. The two danced around one another picking up items every now and then to look at them. Bakugou strayed away to put some distance between him and the pretty stranger, but still close enough that he could hear her humming to the soft music. “Bakugou.”
She turned around with a curious sort of tilt to her head, “What?” Bakugou scoffed at the beginnings of a smile that was starting to form on her face.
“Name’s Bakugou.”
“Oh.”
“Oh?”
Bakugou watched as she moved on to yet another shelf of funky looking Christmas gift ideas. He had a tight feeling in his chest, a strange sort of nervousness that seemed to be set on suffocating him.
“Sorry, I just don’t normally hand out my name five minutes into meeting someone.” She was smirking at him and it almost made Bakugou want to retreat to one of the previous stores he had looked at. Anything to escape this moment, anything to escape her. After a brutally long moment of silence, the shorter girl chuckled. “It’s Y/n.” She locked eyes with Bakugou and he felt the corner of his lips tug at her expression.
“Anyways, what are you doing shopping three days before Christmas?” Bakugou watched as she started to linger closer to him as he half haphazardly looked through things. His fingers brushed against something cool to the touch and he grasped it tighter in his hands to look at the object fully.
Bakugou let out an almost frustrated sigh before answering, “Trying to find the right gift for a friend.” The girl's eyes widened and she smiled back at him.
“So am I!” She seemed to laugh at herself and he grinned once again looking at the items on the shelf. A quiet seemed to fall over them and they moved together to keep looking at the objects throughout the store. A Frank Sinatra song drifted through the hidden speakers, the girl seemed to be happily humming along, it made Bakugou want to hum back. He grabbed a candle to smell it only to immediately place it back after the bad scent hit his nose.
“Sorry should’ve told you it smelt bad,” she apologetically smiled. He lowered his head to glare at her only for her to stare back and laugh quietly. “Just wanted to see your reaction to the shitty excuse for a candle.” Y/n wandered over to another aisle full of small things, Bakugou followed behind like a lost puppy only stopping to look at things that would be remotely cool enough for Kirishima.
~~~
The pair spent hours at that store just trying to find anything their friends might like, and even after moving on to other stores to look some more—neither found anything that really stood out. Y/n came close but she decided that it wasn’t good enough for her friend in the long run. Bakugou and Y/n walked alongside one another, almost touching shoulders but not quite. Bakugou could feel every time their knuckles brushed—the feeling sending chills up his entire arm and throughout his whole body. Bakugou wasn’t the type of person to even hang out with anyone, let alone someone he just met. Something was different with her though, Bakugou felt content being around her, and he didn’t find her as annoying as all his other friends.
“We should get coffee or something.” Y/n seemed to stop him in his tracks and grabbed his forearm with her free hand. He grunted in protest but didn’t say no. She smiled towards him and let his arm go to browse her phone for what Bakugou could assume was a cafe. Bakugou gripped his phone tightly in his pocket as he watched her scramble to find something near them that was suitable. He looked up as she started to bounce on her heels, the sky was a lot darker then when he first started shopping. That also meant the weather was not as nice, the cold winds bit at his cheeks once again and made fingers want to grasp something warm in them, coffee did sound really nice.
“You okay to go here? I’m not keeping you from anything?” She pushed her phone to his face, the screen showing him a smaller cafe around the corner from where they were. He nodded and started walking, the street name already in mind as he walked around some other people. The shorter girl soon caught up with him and pushed their shoulders together, trying to get closer to him or generate heat, he couldn’t tell.
Someone held the door open for them and they both quietly mumbled a thank you before entering the warm shop. It’s the most wonderful time of the year by Andy Williams hit Bakugou’s ears and he could already hear Y/n start to hum along with it. Cold hands grasped his and dragged him to the counter of the cafe, his eyes locked on her smaller ones. He was so surprised that the small action caught him off guard.
“Can I get medium hot cocoa with extra whip? Plus, whatever he’s getting.” The words were rushed and Bakugou could see the pink leaving her cheeks, her hand left his and he looked up at the menu to order.
“A medium hot coffee is fine.” He reached into his jacket pocket to grab his wallet, but she beat him to it and smiled back at him. “I would have paid, idiot.” The person on register ushered them over to wait elsewhere so they could take more orders.
“It’s alright, think of it as a gift from me to you.” Y/n was swaying where she stood and Bakugou smiled before rolling his eyes and replying back to her.
“Oh god, now you’re gonna make me get you a gift along with my friend who I can’t find anything for?” A scoff left his lips and small giggles could be heard from where she stood. Their orders were called and they both grabbed their drinks to sit down in the cafe near the bakery part of it. Bakugou grabbed a sugar and cream and stirred them in his drink as the girl across from him sipped her own drink.
“I can’t believe you got a hot cocoa.”
“What do you mean? It’s literally the perfect weather for hot cocoas?” He wanted to be mad at her answer but he knew she was right. His own mother used to make him the same drink when he was younger once the colder weather hit. “You know what would go good with this though?”
Bakugou hummed in response to let her know he was paying attention and she smiled back at him as she took the lid off her cup, “A warm cookie.” She locked eyes with his as she took a long drink and he watched the whip cream stay on her lip.
“Do you want a cookie?” A nod could be seen and the blond sighed before getting up and tapping the table as he left to order a cookie.
Bakugou returned moments later with two cookies. She smiled and grabbed the one with more frosting and more sprinkles, somehow getting some on her cheek as she ate the sweet treat. He laughed and they talked, getting to know each other as the minutes passed. The last of his coffee had gotten cold and he hadn’t found Kirishima a gift, but he had met a pretty girl that was nice company and he thought that was a good way to end his night.
Starting completely over at a new school wasn’t something Aya was planning on doing, but she also wasn’t planning on her parents dying anytime soon.
Her heart broke every time she thought of them and she couldn’t fathom the thought of them no longer being there with her, without immediately wanting to cry. She realized that she was never really left alone after the hospital and she’s grateful towards the Pro Hero for being by her side. For being an unwavering force she could rely on. Eraser really only left when she was sleeping. Whenever she seemed to close her eyes her mind chose to show her images of father’s terrified eyes and the blue haired man’s face. The villain seemed to cloud her thoughts and she couldn’t stop seeing him wherever she looked. Aya wanted to lay in bed all day because her brain was exhausted from talking to people and getting asked questions she didn’t know the answers to, but everytime she got the chance to rest her mind decided to betray her.
She really hated that.
Aya knew she needed to tell someone after her third day without sleep but she couldn’t seem to ask anyone. Her shoulders seemed to carry an impossible weight, and she knew her mental health was starting to take a hit when she couldn’t be bothered to eat.
Aizawa knew she was struggling and seemed to have a rough time sleeping at night, but he was watching over her and making sure she wouldn’t do anything detrimental to herself. He would nudge snacks into her hands when he could and that she always had a water on her. The bags under her eyes were becoming darker.
She noticed that Aizawa did a lot of paperwork. Most of it was about her. He didn’t have to tell her for her to know. He tended to hide the paper whenever it was about the incident or her. That was what the heroes were referring to it as. The massacre of her family was a tragic incident. The doctor’s referred to it as survivor’s guilt, but it felt like more than guilt. It was something she couldn’t put into words.
Aizawa told her that he lied about her quirk on her school forms. If anyone asked her quirk was teleportation. Nothing more and nothing less.
The group decided to let Aya stay in the teachers dorms until further notice. She’s been staying in an extra room within Aizawa’s residence in the building. Midnight had been given the instructions to go to the Nanase house and collect everything Aya needed to feel at home and anything the girl specifically asked for. The room was a simple layout and everything was placed where she wanted the same night, her room didn’t feel like the one she had at her parent’s house. An anxious feeling settled in her stomach the night before she’d be starting at this new school. Her mind fixated more on the new school and kids and made it impossible to sleep. Yet, Aya managed to squeeze in a few hours before her big day.
~~
Aya was placed in Aizawa’s class because Principal Nezu realized they had connected during the incident and that she would need as much help as she could get in these difficult times. When they walked into school that morning, Aizawa had told Aya that she’d be doing a half day to get started and what they would be doing in his class. Aya listened to him talk as they walked down the barren halls at U.A.
“I know it’s a lot to take in and the kids are loud and annoying but I promise some of them are okay. If you feel overwhelmed just let me know, and we’ll figure something out. It’s just another day at school, don’t think too much about it.” His gruff voice calmed her, made her breathing easier.
Aizawa looked at her as he reached for the door handle, as if checking to see if she was really ready. Aya gave him a small smile, to reassure him, to reassure herself. The door was pushed open and she was welcomed to the sight of Midnight standing at the front of Eraser’s class.
She stepped in behind her guardian when he opened the door to his classroom. His students barely even noticed. They seemed busy picking a class representative just like regular high school and it made a sigh leave her lips as she realized it’d be an easy enough day.
“Okay students! As you can all see, we have a new student that was transferred due to some extenuating circumstances. Please treat her nicely and welcome her to the class!” The woman in red glasses started clapping along with a few students. Aya felt her hands tighten around the straps of her bag as she scanned the class. Her eyes were met with other colored eyes and she was hesitant to move until Aizawa pushed her towards Midnight, she felt eyes trailing her every move. Aya stood behind the podium and bowed her head in respect to her new classmates, she could feel her heart racing in her chest. Her mind seemed to be swimming with other thoughts but she stood back up and greeted them.
“Hi. I’m Aya Nanase and I have a teleportation quirk.” She breathed out through her nose louder than she thought and the class was awkwardly quiet as eyes followed her. A girl with pink hair seemed to jump out of her seat and she squealed before clamping a hand over her mouth.
“Another girl in class! This is gonna be so much fun!” The pink colored girl smiled cherrily at her and Aya felt compelled to smile back but she knew it didn’t quite reach her eyes when the pink girl frowned at her. Aya shifted on her feet and looked down at her white slippers, she heard some muffled whispering and Aizawa cleared his throat.
“Anyway, Aya will be shadowing the class rep for a few days so hurry up and choose one.” Aizawa gave Aya a look and wandered off to a sleeping bag in the corner of the room. Midnight didn’t even blink as he sank down to the floor and got the classes attention back on her. Words flew over Aya’s head as the kids listened to the teacher. She stood at the front of class watching hands raise and tally marks be put on the board. The perfectly lined desks distracted her from the commotion happening in front of her and she was able to look at each kid that occupied the desk.
Her eyes drifted to the green eyed boy that was currently talking, she saw that he had freckles littering his face as well as curly green hair. A blond boy was in front of him and with his head leaning against his hand, he seemed to be uninterested as the other boy spoke. The pink colored girl seemed to be vibrant and happy along with another girl who had a brown bob. She saw a student with the head of a bird, one with a tail, amongst others. The kids all seemed to be nice enough for her to get along with them and make this year tolerable. Aya’s breath hitched in her throat when she met with grey and blue colored eyes, the boy had two toned hair and she was surprised with his beauty. His heterochromia stare made her stop and only snap back to reality when the sound of clapping made way to her ears. Aya averted her eyes to the green haired boy and a pretty tall girl made their way to the front. They both smiled at her and Aya could only nod back.
“Alright then, congratulations to our new class and deputy representative of Class 1-A!”
Aya saw how her classmates reacted to the news and felt small in their presence. The pair thanked the class and the boy managed to say a few words before they were called for lunch. Students filed out and while some waved at her, her attention shifted to the tap on her arm.
“I’m Yaoyorozu! This is Midoriya and we’ll help you get settled into class so you feel more comfortable.” Her gentle smile made Aya feel a bit better and she hoped they’d become friends in the future. Midoriya seemed to no longer look as frazzled as he stared at her, and she eyed him back with the same curiosity. Yaoyorozu pushed her and Midoriya out the class door and the trio walked towards where she assumed the lunchroom was.
“Nanase, you said your quirk was teleportation right?”
Aya felt goosebumps rise on her skin under the blazer and she looked to the green hair kid and nodded. Her skirt felt rough in her hands as she clenched the material in her hand. Yaoyorozu watched the scene unfold and kept her hands in the blazer pockets.
“Yeah, I just think of the place I want to be and in a blink of an eye I’m there. It’s not super cool or flashy.” Midoriya seemed content with her answer and released a small chuckle,
“I’m sure it’s cool! I’d love to see you in action and ask you questions, but only if it’s okay with you!” The teenage boy scrambled to not make Aya uncomfortable and both her and the tall girl laughed at his reaction and pink cheeks. Midoriya stayed quiet for the rest of the walk to the cafe and Yaoyorozu begged the short girl to call her Momo instead and promised that she’ll help out whenever she can.
“You can sit anywhere technically but most of our class sits together. After we get lunch we can talk about schedules and other school stuff if you’re interested.” Momo smiled down at her again and Aya felt herself nodding along to what she was saying, Midoriya seemed to be off in his own space and was mumbling things to himself. The trio sat down at their table and Aya was almost immediately bombarded with questions.
“Can we call you Aya instead?”
“What school did you transfer from?”
“What did they mean when they said extenuating circumstances?”
More questions seemed to be thrown her way and the four people closest to her saw how uncomfortable she looked.
“Settle down guys! Nanase will tell us things about herself on her own time. Let’s wait until she opens up so as to not scare her away.” The dark haired male with glasses yelled out to the other kids and they sat down with pouts adorning their features. Aya felt a bit better when the questions stopped but her hands were trembling in her lap at the thought of answering them. “Sorry about them, they seem to be overbearing and quite loud at times. I’m Tenya Iida by the way!” His voice was confident and Aya felt hands stop shaking so much as Iida smiled brightly at her.
“I’m Ochaco Uraraka! It’s cool to have another girl in class like Mina said, I hope we become friends.” Aya felt happiness radiate off the cute girl and saw a kind eyes that matched her smile. Midoriya and Uraraka sat on one side of the table and chatted quietly while eating, Iida and her sat on the other side near the end of the table, and Momo ate her own food at the head of the table. Aya felt like she could trust these people and decided to make an effort in being their friend.
“Thank you, Iida, and it’s nice to meet you both.” A small smile adorned Aya’s face and Uraraka hummed out in agreement before placing more food in her mouth. Small talk made its way around their class table and after being introduced to everyone, she started eating her first meal in a few days. It was just small bites here and there. She couldn’t bring herself to finish. The guilt sat like a stone in her throat, constantly choking her. Midoriya seemed to notice but he didn’t say anything and she was grateful.
A ringing alarm burst through the air and all talk in the cafeteria halted. Aya’s heart dropped to her stomach and she felt the hairs rise on her skin. She looked around and saw kids slowly stand up around her, unsure of what to do as the alarm rang loudly in everyone's ears.
Warning level three security breach, please evacuate the building.
The consistent ringing and mantra of words made Aya’s head hurt and she felt herself being tapped on the hand.
“I think something’s wrong, we gotta go.” Momo’s words seemed calm but her eyes told another story. Iida looked to be asking someone something and Aya felt her hand instinctively reach for something to hold on to, emotions coming rushing back and she was brought back to that day, the villains, the incident. She knew something was wrong by the look on Iida’s face and she was overwhelmed with anxiety. Her hands twitched at her side and she wished Aizawa was there to keep her grounded like he had before. The five stood together and watched their classmates follow them slowly and wordlessly. As the ringing continued, kids started running and this terrified Aya. Her hands began shaking even more so than before, goosebumps rose everywhere on her body, and she seemed to stop breathing all together. Aya could tell that something was seriously wrong from the reaction of students and this was supposed to be the safest school in the country, if they were worried, she knew she had every right to be scared.
Her limbs felt stiff as she recalled coming home that day. Still fresh in her mind thanks to her recurring nightmares, the images of the villain plagued her and she felt her whole whole body shiver. Iida, Uraraka, and Midoriya seemed to disappear from her eyesight and Momo seemed lost and confused next to her. She felt like she might blackout, might just collapse onto the floor.
Aya felt a hand reach for hers and she let it happen, mind too hazy to think straight. Her eyes seemed to roam over students and she met the same crimson ones she saw earlier in class. Her glossed over eyes searched his red ones that held so much more than what meets the eye. She stood there helplessly, beginning for it to be over.. Her quirk wasn’t even active and she felt like time stopped as they stared at one another. Her golden hues met his and she saw something like recognition flicker in the red color before her hand was tugged on. Momo searched her face frantically as she tugged her away, and led her to the crowd of people trying to leave.
“Aya, is everything okay? I was calling you but you just looked so out of it.” Worry could be heard in Momo’s voice and Aya wished she could tell her not to worry but she could barely breathe. Aya shook her head softly and felt Momo thread her fingers through hers, she immediately tightened her hold on the taller girl. Her breathing was uneven as Momo weaved around others to get to the crowd and she stopped the pair when looking at the mass of people. The second they stopped Aya could hear the whispers of people around her,
“What if it’s villains?”
“I’ve been here three years and we’ve never had this problem.”
“Does level three breach mean villains are on campus?”
The word villain rang throughout her mind and she couldn’t seem to focus on anything but it. She pictured the man covered in hands standing near her dad. The fog that seemed to let him escape. His hand that seemed centimeters away from touching her. The horrified look on her father's face. His hand that seemed to be the fall of her parents. His hand. His hand. His hand. His hand.
Her hand was sweating against Momo’s and she couldn’t tell if the other girl noticed. Aya’s breath started coming out in pants and her lips felt chapped. Her chest hurt and she couldn’t breathe. She needed help. She needed to get out. She needed Aizawa. She wanted to cry.
“Momo...” It came out as a whisper against her dried lips and her legs felt like they were trembling. She couldn’t move. Aya remembered the villain’s hand, and his voice, and she felt stuck. Her feet were glued to the floor again and she could feel his lingering touch on her shoulder from that day. She thought it was over when the villain left her house, but she was going to die in this school.
The villain hadn’t need to touch her to kill her, the thought of him alone was apparently enough.
Her eyes refocused on what was happening in front of her and she saw black hair and kind eyes. Momo gently wiped the tears from her cheeks. Aya hadn’t even realized she was crying
“You’re okay, you’re safe.” Momo hummed and Aya squeezed her hand. Momo moved to push the two of them to an area where no one would bother them. Aya felt like her breath was stuck in her throat and she still couldn’t speak. Momo motioned for them to squat down while the commotion occurred all around them. She felt Momo help move her body, it didn’t feel like her own anymore. The taller girl wiped at more tears and Aya wished she could thank her but she felt like a ball of anxiety and she still couldn’t speak.
“You’re having a panic attack.”
Aya wanted to retort that she wasn’t, but her mouth stayed shut. The raven haired girl twiddled her fingers together and she found herself watching them dance around one another. She saw a hand wave in her face trying to get her attention back on Momo,
“I know it’s hard but I need you to listen to me, breathe so you can get some control back.” Momo squeezed the smaller girl's hand and Aya nodded. “Just follow my lead. We’re gonna breathe in for seven, hold for seven, and exhale on seven okay?” Momo made it sound so easy but she could still feel her heart in her stomach and her fingers felt stiff against Momo’s.
“Inhale..” Aya listened to Momo’s breathing as best she could given the shouting in the cafe and tried inhaling after her.
One
Two
Three
Four
She was half way there, she could do it. She just had to stop thinking of them and start controlling her breathing.
Five
Six
Seven
Aya felt another squeeze at her clammy hand and felt her chest get tighter before holding her the oxygen in for another seven seconds. The feeling in her chest started to loosen as she exhaled out for seven seconds. Momo watched her glassy eyes and when she got a small nod from Aya, they did another round of the exercise. Loud clatter and yelling could be heard everywhere, but Aya could finally breathe again. She extended her fingers and felt the pain in them dissipate along with the goosebumps that arose. She still felt anxious but it wasn’t like before.
“I’ve never had one of those before.”
“Happens to the best of us,” Momo held a sad smile as she reached for Aya’s other hand. A loud thud could be heard from the direction of the door and both girls looked to see their classmate squashed against the wall on a window above everyone.
“Hey everyone, listen up! Everything is completely fine. It’s just the press outside. There is nothing, and I mean nothing, for anyone to worry about..” Iida trailed off about something but Aya wasn’t listening anymore. She realized with his words that the knots in her stomach had undid themselves and she slowly released the tight grip she had on Momo. Her friend watched Iida with nothing but awe in her eyes and Aya was thankful to her new friends.
“Come on, let’s get you up.” Momo pulled them up and as Aya straightened her skirt out, those same crimson eyes found hers again. She watched as he cooly walked away once all the kids stopped freaking out. The two girls found their other three friends and Uraraka seemed to pat the taller boy on his back for the speech, Midoriya was also nodding and smiling at him. The five walked back to their classroom and the second Aya walked through the threshold, her arm was pulled back. A grunt left her lips as she balanced back on her feet after the rough pull, she was met with red eyes. Momo and Midoriya looked back and seemed to have weird looks on their faces before Aya gave them the good ahead to leave her.
“Wha-”
“If you ever have another attack or something, you can come talk to me.” She gave the blond male a questioning look. “It’s not an invitation to talk to me whenever but, if you need someone to talk to about villain attacks, you know where I sit.” Aya watched as his eyes met hers, they still held a lot of emotions that she couldn’t place but she could tell he was telling the truth. His voice was rough but quiet as they stood outside the classroom.
“Thanks I will, but how did you know?” Her words were spoken softly and her fingers grew fidgety at her side, playing with the material of her skirt again.
“ ‘Cause I’ve experienced one.” Aya watched him carefully and felt guilt start to seep into her veins as she realized what he said.
“Oh, I’m sorry–”
“I don’t need your pity. It was my fault for being weak in the moment. It was the sludge villain attack a while ago.” Aya remembered seeing the incident everywhere for weeks about how a young kid was involved with All Might’s return to Japan, she hadn’t figured it was someone like him. This kid looked tough and not someone she really wanted to mess with, but she knew everyone had pasts.
“What’s your name again?” Aya let the skirt go and watched his nose twitch at her statement.
“Bakugou.” He was leaning against the wall outside the classroom.
“Well thank you, Bakugou, for telling me that. I’ll take your offer up if I do need it.” Aya saw him roll eyes before starting to walk away.
“Did ya hear when I said it wasn’t an invitation to speak to me whenever?” He sauntered back into class with her following and she almost laughed at his statement. He sat down and soon everyone else was also in the classroom.
Momo caught her eyes from the back of class and she threw her a thumbs up before seeing Midoriya also look confused. Aizawa came in through the door and his eyes immediately fell on Aya, she smiled and he took it as okay to move on.
“Sorry for the scare everyone, but it was just the press and their dumb camera’s.” Aizawa told them with a monotone voice. “Did you guys happen to pick a class and deputy representative?”
“We did Aizawa, but I’d like to say something before we make it official.” Midoriya replied in a hesitant manner but got up in the front of class along with Momo who reluctantly joined him. After a small speech about why Midoriya was thankful they picked him for the job, he would have to politely decline. He felt like someone else deserved the title.
“You want me to what?” Iida questioned as Midoriya and Momo told him to join them. Aya watched as Aizawa smiled just slightly.
“After today, I think we can all see that you’re way more fit for the job. I think you deserve it.” Iida was speechless as he was pushed to stand in front of the podium next to Momo who was also smiling.
“Thank you?” Iida was confused but snapped out of it pretty quickly as the class clapped for their official new class representative. Aya gave him and Momo a thumbs up and watched as the class seemed happy with Midoriya’s decision.
Aizawa kept a close eye on her as the day progressed and classes went on, but Aya seemed to be okay throughout the day. He was hoping that meeting new people and having a support system would help her get through this.
In the end, she hadn’t needed to take a half day. She was too distracted by her new friends to even realize how much time had gone by. The hospital had been lonely and she forgot what it was like to be so normal. She couldn’t wait to go back to class the next day.
The BNHA Bookclub is excited to bring our first fall-themed event - Autumn Nights!
This event is an all character inclusive event that will run from OCTOBER 15TH - NOVEMBER 10TH to celebrate the change of seasons from summer to fall. The event will close November 10th at midnight EST.
There will be 20 dialogue prompts, 10 alternate universe ideas, and 5 situational prompts to choose from so you can find inspiration with ease! You may double up (or more!) on prompts in your content, but the only requirement is that you include at least one of the prompts in your work.
Don’t forget to tag #bnhabookclub in your first 5 tags, or @ our username so we can be notified of your fic submission. These are the methods we use to track the fics for reblogging! Feel free to add us to your taglists for your fics, regardless of if they are for events or just generic writing. We want to add to our library shelves!
Here is the interest form link for the server. We are always accepting new recruits!
Y/n sat alone in her room, it was quiet other than the sound of the small hum from the air conditioning. Her dorm room was cold and quiet and she covered her body with the blanket Shoji had gotten her. It was the morning of her own birthday and she hadn’t received any texts or been awoken by anyone in the dorms. Her own boyfriend hadn’t even texted her the minute it hit midnight. Y/n’a parents had already texted her to have a great day on her birthday along with a quick love you, but that was it. She sighed and grabbed her phone, turning the screen off right after being welcomed by nothing and she groaned. The blankets covering the girl kept the cold air out but she was starting to grow hungry and she’d rather be cold than hungry.
She closed the door behind her as quietly as she could in order to not wake anyone in her hall and walked towards the kitchen. She left the elevator and thought at least Momo would be up and maybe even Koda, but it was quiet everywhere. She saw the kitchen light off, and it was then she knew something was up. Aizawa always turned the lights on before any of the kids caught got up. She looked around and could suddenly hear slight whispering coming from somewhere within the common room, after a long minute, she was surprised by the sudden scene of all her classmates in the main room with confetti poppers going off and lots of screaming. Y/n broke into a big smile and started laughing when Sero and Kaminari threw the confetti at each other. She greeted everyone there including Bakugou and Aizawa, and thanked them all, the smile never leaving her face. Her boyfriend was holding a box in one set of his arms and Y/n found herself just excited to see Shoji. She made eye contact with him and smiled softly. The box laid in his hands and she was eager to open it. Her classmates seemed to spread out as it was still early and some even went back to bed.
She waved as half of them left and thanked the others who stayed once again. She walked to where Shoji stood and both of their closest friends circled around her and her boyfriend. She heard Jirou tell her to hurry up and Tokoyami even agreed with her. They started growing impatient because she was just standing there with her hands on the box and not actually opening it. Some of their friends had intimated the sound of drums and then the birthday girl finally opened the box. An even bigger smile broke out onto Y/n’s face and she laughed at what was in the box. The girl was delighted to see snacks from her home country fill the box. She reached for the top of the box to close it but one of Shoji’s hands stopped her from doing so.
“There’s more.” Shoji answered with a small smile. Y/n stared at him with confusion written on her face and another arm came to caress the side of her face. The box looked like it was full of snacks, snacks from her home country. Shoji couldn't imagine how hard it was living away from home and he applauded her every chance he could. Y/n reopened the box and grabbed the box from his arms. The little crowd was led to the kitchen countertop away from the main room and she looked through the box while taking stuff out to see better. She finally got to the bottom of the box and he picked up the papers that laid on the cardboard. No one seemed to know what was inside and Mina was quick to tell her to hurry cause she wanted to see. Her friends were watching this all unfold and she felt a bit embarrassed, but still a soft smile adorned her face. Y/n turned the papers over and her eyes scanned the text.
Round trip plane tickets.
Round trip plane tickets specifically to her home. The birthday girl read over the paper again as her girl friends squealed behind her. The dates were spread through a week meaning she got to go home for a week during the summer before her third year at U.A. Y/n flipped the paper and saw yet another ticket, she felt her eyes gloss over and she looked up to Shoji. Y/n was ecstatic but she was also worried that she might cry in front of everyone.
“I’m going home?” Y/n asked and saw Aizawa leaning against the wall watching the group. He chuckled and moved to stand beside Shoji, he let a small smile take over as he spoke quietly.
“I actually think your boyfriend who bought the tickets would like to go with you.” Y/n let her eyes travel back to the silver-haired male and wanted nothing more than to wrap her arms around him. She placed the papers on the counter and walked the small distance to her boyfriend. All his arms opened and she giggled before throwing herself into his embrace. He engulfed her body entirely and she relaxed in his arms. She pushed her head in his shoulder and he squeezed her tight. The rest of the kids around them were smiling and they soon joined in on hugging the couple. Y/n felt herself being squeezed by everyone and started laughing. The room erupted in laughter as it spread from person to person. As their classmates slowly let go of one another, Y/n let go of Shoji. She looked at him once over before giving her a soft kiss on the cheek though the mask. She let out a giggle and let her hands rest on Shoji’s waist. The birthday girl let his main arms rest around hers once again.
“Who wants cake?!” Momo questioned while Todoroki went to grab utensils and plates for the sweet desert, or breakfast in their case. The group of kids went to the table and started cutting cake, Y/n and Shoji stayed behind. She watched their friends gather around the cake and laugh with one another, he waited for her to look back at him. He admired the way her hair was still a mess from bed and the way her eyes crinkled when she looked at her friends from smiling so much. Y/n felt a pinch at her side and looked at her boyfriend, she held a smile that mirrored his.
“I brought up the plan to Aizawa and he wanted to make sure that we got to go for some reason. He talked to Nezu about having the week off so we won’t miss anything, especially summer training.” He started rubbing her sides and let his hands lock around her back so he could hold her. She loved the way his arms felt when they were around her.
“You bought the tickets and everything?”
“Yeah, don’t worry about anything angel. I have everything covered.” He sent her a smile and Y/n swore she would do anything for this boy. He was her everything and she was his.
“Did you know, you’re my favorite person. I would do anything for you babe.” Y/n was tempted to kiss him right then and there but didn’t want their friends to tease them or for him to be uncomfortable. He could tell she was thinking and he nudged her closer to him. Y/n tapped her own lips and Shoji lazily rolled her eyes, one of his arms coming up to pull the mask under his chin. She smiled brightly and reached for his face. Y/n pulled him to her and connected their lips. He let out a small laugh and let the kiss happen. He was happy and didn’t care anymore about the loud noises from his friends in the background. When Shoji kissed her she felt like she was on cloud nine, his lips felt like heaven. Their lips slotted together perfectly and Y/n wished Shoji wouldn’t wear the mask as often as he did so she could kiss him more. She knew he was insecure about it because of his past but she didn’t care what he looked like as long as he was hers. They parted from one another, Shoji’s lips tinted slightly pink from his girlfriend's chapstick.
“I’m excited to see your home with you Y/n. I could even meet your family, if you wanted?” The two walked hand in hand towards the common room where the rest of the group migrated too, but Y/n stopped him by pulling her hand back,
“Wait, you’d wanna meet my family?” The innocence in the girls eyes made her seem even smaller than she already was. Shoji adored how cute she was and couldn’t deny how much he truly loved the girl in front of him. “You know they're crazy and even louder than the dorms.” Her face held a pout and Shoji couldn’t help himself from pressing another kiss to her lips.
“Of course I do. Happy Birthday sweetheart.” Y/n felt her cheeks heat up from the word sweetheart, and literally any nickname that he called her. She was infatuated with him and was always a blushing mess around the boy. He pulled her again to rest against his body and gave her a big kiss right on the forehead . A surprised sound left her but she smiled into his chest. Every kiss with Shoji felt like home to her, she couldn’t exactly describe it, but she never wanted to be without them.
He reached around her and pulled his mask over his face again. Midoriya called for his friends from the other room and the two laughed at each other while walking with their pinky fingers connected, and sitting right next to each other to enjoy the rest of the birthday girl's day. Mina and Sero eyed the couple and as Y/n talked to Tokoyami, Shoji held her hand.
“How could you afford two round trip plane tickets??” Mina whined towards him and he only scoffed at her question. This caught Y/n’s attention and she let a laugh escape her before whispering into the pink girl's ear. “HE’S RICH?! SHOJI IS LOADED?” The room grew silent as Mina screamed in her face and Y/n shushed her as the words left Mina’s mouth. Y/n clasped her hand around Mina’s head and Shoji stared at the two with wide eyes.
“Wait what?” Momo and Iida seemed to question at the same time. The outburst caught the attention of Todoroki and Sato who were munching on cake in the kitchen. Midoriya stared at the couple and seemed to be in disbelief.
“Yo, Shoji, you mean to tell us that this entire time of us attending the same school, that you’re loaded? Two and half years of living with one another, and you just now tell us you’re rich. Not cool dude.” Kaminari sat on the couch defeated by the new information coming up in the dorms. Shoji pulled his girlfriend back to sit beside him and she huffed, grabbing his hand and nodding slowly towards him. He sighed and squeezed her hand reassuring her that it’d be okay.
“None of you ever asked if I was. Sorry?” He shrugged and watched as Sero rolled his eyes. “I just don’t like or feel the need to show off my money like some kids in our class,” he paused before looking at two kids. “No offense Yaoyuruzu and Iida.” The two of them brushed him off with smiles and Shoji smiled back under his mask.
“It’s okay but jeez you could’ve told us buddy.” Sero patted Shoji’s shoulder and got up to walk in the kitchen after.
“As soon as I realized that we were really close I told her.” She nodded back at Kirishima and he smiled back at the couple.
“I can’t believe you’re rich. I could’ve asked you for money instead of Iida.” Kaminari explained and laughs could be heard around the room. Y/n rubbed her thumb along Shoji’s palm and he looked at her to see her already smiling.
“It’s always the quiet ones who hide things.” Aoyama muttered while snacking on cheese and Uraraka threw a pillow in his direction, he quickly held his hands up in defense. The day was filled with many happy things with your classmates as you all spent the day together, including getting more of Shoji’s kisses.
"Power corrupts," Y/n said softly.
"Yeah," Bakugou said sarcastically. "I've heard that. Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts. I forgot who said it." Silence hung in the air, it wasn't constricting though. "I made a lot of mistakes Y/n. I don't want to keep making mistakes either. And I don't want to be him. I don't want to be Midoriya. I want to..." Bakugou spread his arms wide, a gesture of helplessness. The two were overlooking the surrounding area from a tree and the rest of their friends scattered throughout. "I just want to live. I want to get away from everything." Bakugou wanted all the fighting to stop so he could finally be a teenager.
"You won't be corrupted, Katsuki. You wouldn't do those things. You’re better than him." He moved slightly to turn to face her. Y/n moved to close the distance between them. Their bodies close enough where he could feel the warmth radiating from her.
"How can you be so sure?" Bakugou questioned. Self doubt could be seen peeking through his eyes."Well, two reasons. First, it's just not you. Sure you can be a dick sometimes, but that's just you. Plus of course you felt a rush from the power. Who wouldn't? but, you pushed it away. You didn't grab at it, you pushed it away. You’re so much different than the three of them. You’re better than all of them in every way imaginable. You're you. Not Midoriya, Iida, or Uraraka. And that's only reason number one." Bakugou wanted to agree, wanted to accept what she said, but he felt he knew better. He couldn’t believe the words coming from his lovers mouth.
"Don't be so sure." Bakugou scratched the back of his head. Y/n sighed and reached for his hands with hers to hold.
"Do you want to know reason number two?" Bakugou locked eyes with her and nodded.
"You have me." Y/n smiled.
"Do I?"
"Yes."
Bakugou felt the anger and frustration drain from him like someone pulled a plug. For a long moment he was lost gazing in her eyes. She was so close to him it was almost hard to breathe. His heart shifted to a deeper rhythm that had vibrated his whole body. There were mere inches between them. Bakugou closed the distance by half, then stopped. He sighed, "I can't kiss you with your little brother watching," Bakugou smirked and he felt her groan against his lips.
“Come on, it isn’t that hard! Just kiss me.” Bakugou shook his head and Y/n finally stepped back, took Katsuma by the shoulders and turned him around so he faced the opposite way. Y/n turned to face him again and smiled. She grabbed him by the collar of his shirt and pulled him to her. "How about now?"
Bakugou smiled again and wrapped his hands around her waist, closing the little distance that was between them. Her figure settled perfectly with his. His body shifted so her body laid against the tree while he held her. "Perfect." He watched her close her eyes, the eyes that he had fallen in love with so long ago. Everything seemed to be moving painfully slow. Bakugou wanted to remember this moment forever. He looked at all of her facial features. Her eyes that sparkled from the sunlight above them to the freckles that had dusted the bridge of her nose and cheekbones. They weren't even prominent, just faint enough to see. Yet somehow they seemed to form constellations. The small scars that covered her face that showed what she’s been through made him want to kiss her all over. Her lips were a pretty pink color and from what he knew it was her favorite chapstick, peaches.
He finally came back to reality and moved his lips closer. He felt her lips against his. It was like heaven, they were so soft and pink. He moved his hands up to her face and held her, afraid that something could tear them from one another. He never wanted to lose her. Bakugou would do anything for her. She pressed her lips against his with a bit of strength and he pushed right back. His hands caressed the sides of her face and it was almost like she shivered under her touch despite the heat from the sun. Y/n pushed his shoulders slightly and he let go. He rested his forehead against hers and she breathed heavily.
"Thought you weren't going to let me go for a second." She laughed while he smiled, her laughter did something to him. His stomach was doing backflips and his skin felt like it was on fire. The sound brought happiness and joy whenever it was heard.
Bakugou moved from her forehead and pushed his face in the crook of her neck. He pulled her close, Y/n’s arms laid on his shoulders while his were on her waist. He felt a small kiss on the side of his head. Bakugou felt his heartbeat quicken and he smiled. He moved to see Katsuma sitting with Kirishima while Kaminari was off by himself looking at the river. His other friends were busy doing other things as they prepared to leave the next morning. He hugged his girlfriend’s body close to him and let her scent overtake him. These were his people. the people he could count on and who wouldn't let him down. Bakugou loved his people, even if he did find some of them barely tolerable.
You knew that from the moment you woke up to the time you stepped out of your room, someone was bound to attack you. Whether it was your younger brother or your best friend, you were never surprised. Your best friend, Katsuki Bakugou, had been in your life quite literally from the time you were carried into your house two days after you were born, up until now. His family had moved into their house the day you were born and surprisingly they had a little boy that was just a few months older than you. You two had known each other from diapers and playdates your mothers would set up, and you were both now seniors in high school.
To say Bakugou was pretty was an understatement, you had watched him blossom into the man he was today, and to say you were attracted to him was nothing but the truth. Apart from his looks, he was never but anything nice to you, although he could sometimes be a dick. He was especially mean to your other friend Midoriya, but he seemed to cool off around you like he had some kind of soft spot. He’s sly and clever and while he seemed to have a problem with anyone that wasn’t you, this made your friendship all the better. From his cleverness and anger issues, and your sarcasm and witty comments about anything, you two were unstoppable. The tree between the two houses stopped neither of you from going over to each other’s houses and only proved to strengthen your relationship as it became a regular hangout spot. From talking about anything to nothing and just star gazing at two am, the spot was one of your favorite places. Going to school with Bakugou was nothing but fun - you two caused little problems for others and then blamed it on one another.
The only thing that was annoying about the said boy was that he never failed to cause trouble at your house. It was never anything to actually cause harm but they were annoying. Bakugou and your younger brother seemed to be glued at the hip when he was over, you didn’t mind - you loved seeing him bond with your family - but these pranks were getting out of control. Bakugou used to dislike the young boy but after time and lots of hanging out, they seemed to be best buds. As soon as your brother as they became close friends, Bakugou had stolen him away from you and started devising their plans to ruin your life. Once they were both home from school, your two favorite boys would be dead set on making you question if they really were your favorite boys. Your parents were also very fond of the boy and didn’t seem to mind that he seemed to love to tease the hell out of their daughter. The pranks weren’t that bad when they first started doing it but sometimes it would get out of hand. Like the time you were almost late to school and they had put salt on your toothbrush that morning and watched your reaction when you stuck the toothbrush in your mouth, you quickly spit it out and washed your mouth out while flicking water on the two laughing boys on your way out of the bathroom. Or the time when they taped a piece of paper to the bottom of your computer mouse when you were trying to do homework, you were almost in tears when you tried calling one of your parents. Bakugou was chuckling when he pulled your hand that held your phone so he could show you what really was the problem calling you a dumbass right after. You slapped his chest as a frustrated sigh left your lips. The pranks weren’t only at your house though - when Bakugou was out at dinner with your family one night, your brother and he had secretly asked for the waiter to keep the wasabi on your dish, and your reaction when you started eating was priceless. Your brother and Bakugou, plus your parents, were losing it at the restaurant and all you could do was offer a glare that promised you’d get back at the two later.
It was the first day of your senior year and you were scared that the pair of boys were going to ruin your morning. It was the first day of your last year of high school and to say you were excited about leaving the place was an understatement, and if your brother and Bakugou tried ruining that for you, you might just lose it.
to anger issues: if u try anything this morning, i’ll fight you mf
from anger issues: I won’t, just come downstairs already, i'm waiting on you slowpoke
You descended down the staircase carefully to not mess up your uniform. Making your way to the kitchen, the blond-haired boy sat across from your parents at the table, scrolling through his phone. Your brother was nowhere to be seen and a sigh left your lips as you went to grab a banana from the table. You stuffed it in your bag, along with grabbing the carton that was in front of your best friend. He stared at you while you sipped from the banana milk and reached to take it back but was surprised when you spun around and headed towards your front door. He quickly grabbed his bag from the floor and walked after you, you both said your goodbyes to your parents as you grabbed the car keys on the small table by the front door. You handed the half-empty carton back to Bakugou and laughed at his disgusted expression once you entered the car. You both put your backpacks in the back seat before turning the car on. You decided to carpool in your car two days of the week and he would drive the rest, he claimed something about being a better driver than you.
You stopped at a house a few down from yours and Bakugou’s and saw your friend Midoriya leaving his house. Across the street, another one of your friends, Kirishima, walked out of his house with a smile on his face and waved when he saw Midoriya. They made it to your car and slammed the doors shut, making you jump. “Hey dickheads, I’m driving you to school in my car, best if you didn’t slam the doors shut.” You smiled back at two behind you before taking the car out of park and made your way to leave the neighborhood. Your friend group sure was a wild one, but you couldn’t have asked for better friends. Bakugou never failed to let them know his distaste for them, but you knew him better. The drive to school didn’t last long, and with the small talk about how summer was, you pulled into your designated spot ten minutes before the bell. The four of you left the car, Midoriya getting your bag and Kirishima getting Bakugou’s. You all decided to meet up with the rest of your friends to chat before the dreadful day of school started.
~~~
After a long day of school, you drove to the cafe and after grabbing your usual drinks to go, you drove home. Bakugou grabbed his bag along with yours from the car and followed you till you got to the door, the jingle of keys came to his ears and the pull from his hand brought him into the house. The smell of your home rushed into Bakugou’s nose and he smiled at the sound of your younger brother’s voice that could be heard from the living room, he passed your bag to you as you walked away. “Hey kiddo, did mom pick you up early?” The boy looked up from his spot on the couch and nodded with a smile on his face acknowledging you. Bakugou placed his bag on the floor and went straight to the younger boy and sat with him drinking his cold beverage. You skipped up the stairs and threw your bag to the ground once you made it to your room. The walk back to where the two boys were was quiet, too quiet. On the last step, you felt something hit you on the back of your head, your hand moved to feel it and you were surprised to find something sticky and wet touching your fingers. Your body tensed up as laughter erupted from behind you, your other hand went up to your hair as you tried picking it out of your hair. Bakugou’s face had a grin and as your fingers kept at it, they were pulling and picking, and yet you couldn’t seem to get it all.
Your fingers were coated in a sticky substance as you turned around looking at the pair. Tears pricked your eyes and Bakugou stopped high-fiving your brother.
“Why did you guys-” Bakugou’s face fell and he walked over to you, pushing your brother out of the way before any tears fell.
“Stop. Stop pulling at it or it’ll be harder to get out. We can get it out Y/n.” He grabbed your hands lightly and held them in his own. A few of your fingers had the gum on it, he could see the remnants of it and he pulled you away from the staircase into the kitchen. Bakugou’s hands felt warm, you could feel them against the back of your hands as he made you wash your hands in the sink. “We can use peanut butter to get it out. We’ll get it out Y/n.” You heard Bakugou mumbling when he dried your hands. Apologies left his mouth in a hurry as he told your brother to go back to the couch, he walked over to the pantry and grabbed the peanut butter. “I’m sorry, we didn’t think you would try and get it out. We didn’t mean for it to get out of hand. Your brother just wanted to get you now since he didn’t earlier. I should’ve stopped him.” You were starting to freak out again and your hands instinctively went to your hair again.
“Bakugou, we’re gonna have to cut it. I have to cut my hair and he doesn’t like short hair. Todoroki won’t like me with short hair.” Bakugou felt his chest constrict at your words and he stopped what he was doing with the jar of peanut butter he had grabbed from the pantry. The front door opened and your mom walked through,
“Hey guys I’m back from the store and I picked up- what happened?” Your mom’s confused face came into view and then the tears came. “Why is she crying? Bakugou, sweetheart why is she crying?” Your mother’s hands were on your face as she wiped the tears away. Bakugou’s hands stopped and he placed the opened jar on the countertop you were now sitting next to. “Bakugou go. Go home and we’ll call you later.” The said boy was struggling to speak as he slowly walked out of the room and grabbed his bag from the couch and then left the house without another word.
The next week and a half had passed with little to no conversation, or even glances, from the two of you. You realized just how much your life had been filled with Bakugou. From the moment you had woken up to the time you went to bed. Your thoughts were filled with the boy. Bakugou hadn’t spoken a word to you, let alone look at you, and you hadn’t spoken to the boy since the day he left your house. Your mom had decided that the gum was stuck throughout your hair and that no amount of peanut butter would get it out. That night you had gone to sleep with a new look, your semi-long hair was cut right at your shoulders and you couldn’t tell whether you liked it or not. It was different and that meant the boy you were using to get over Bakugou wouldn’t look at you anymore. Bakugou was the boy of your dreams and he had never looked at you like Todoroki used to. You had tried for months to get over Bakugou and what better way to get over someone then to date someone else, but now that your hair was short, you didn’t stand a chance with the guy.
You didn’t want your senior year to start like this and neither did he but you both couldn’t face each other just yet. The blond boy was too stubborn and with an ego like his, he hadn’t made an effort to talk to you at all, and he had school to focus on. Bakugou hadn’t talked to anyone really besides his family in that week and a half. He was upset that he hadn't seen you at all since the incident happened, upset with himself that he couldn’t even get you to spare him a glance. He was also devastated that you liked someone that wasn’t him. He wanted it to be him. He liked that you cutting your hair would get that waste of space’s attention off of you. It meant that he would’ve had you back as his best friend and not constantly trying to get the attention of some other boy. Bakugou knew he should’ve said no to your younger brother when he proposed the idea of throwing gum in your hair. He also wanted to tell you he liked your hair, he loved it. Bakugou thought you looked beautiful no matter what. He wanted to tell you but he couldn’t bring himself to talk to you, let alone look in your eyes. He wanted his best friend back, he wanted to be able to talk to you again. He hadn’t been sleeping well lately and he thinks it’s because you haven’t sent your usual goodnight texts to him. Bakugou wanted to hold your hands when you had a bad day and complain that your hands were cold. He wanted to take you out to your favorite restaurant and listen to you talk under the stars in the tree in between your guys’ houses. He wanted you.
The fourteenth day without Bakugou was when you finally decided that you had decided that enough was enough. You hated not talking to Bakugou and you desperately wanted the boy back in your life. You had gone over to his house one day after school, completely forgetting that he had after school activities on Tuesdays, you saw his mom though.
“Hi Mrs. Mitsuki, how are you?” You watched the pretty older women walk around the kitchen and you smiled at her.
“I told you that you can call me Mom.” She eyed you watching her from afar and smiled when you laughed but nodded at her. “I’m good, but I’m guessing you aren’t here for me? Bakugou’s been super quiet lately and I can tell he’s a upset but he won’t talk to me about it.” Mitsuki bit into the apple and you bounced on the heels of your feet. You couldn’t tell why you were suddenly nervous, you’ve known Bakugou’s mom since you were a baby. She helped take care of you and let you stay at her house when you didn’t want to be home, but you felt your nerves kick in for some reason. “I’ll tell him you stopped by, and make sure you talk to him honey. I know he misses you.” Mitsuki smiled towards you and left the room. You left the Bakugou household and walked the small distance back to your house, you made it to your room and grabbed your phone.
to anger issues: come to the tree tonight at midnight please, i miss you.
Midnight came sooner than you thought, and pacing the floor in your room was enough to keep you busy for a few hours about thinking of what you were going to say. With ten minutes till, you waited on the platform that his parents had put up for the two of you. The window to Bakugou’s room clicked and out came the hot-headed boy. He sat down next to you with his legs spread and arms crossed.
“I like the hair, by the way, it suits you and you look pretty. If some dumbass can’t see that, they don’t deserve you.” Bakugou let his eyes drift to you seeing you already staring, you missed him a lot. Bakugou also didn’t miss the way the color arose on your cheeks when you looked away, and it wasn’t from the cool weather outside.
“Katsuki, we need to talk. About everything.” You reminded him why you were there and grabbed his hands to hold them. He didn’t move but he squeezed your hands in a means to tell you to continue. “I’m sorry for everything, I didn’t mean for this to turn into what it is.” You let your head drop and he let out a small sigh, knowing that you would blame yourself before blaming him. “And for what it's worth, I stopped talking to Todoroki. I didn’t even like him that much.” His face broke into a smile, which you didn’t notice, upon hearing your words and you squeezed his hands this time to let him talk.
“Well for what it's worth, I don’t care. He was and never will be my problem.” He paused not really knowing what to say, he exhaled before continuing. “I am sorry for forcing you to cut your hair short.” He began and locked eyes when you finally looked up. Bakugou held your gaze when he talked, “I want things to go back to normal. I want us,” he motioned his finger in between the two of you “to be together again. To be friends.” You noticed he said friends but you tried to smile back at him. You dragged his hands towards you, and he got the hint and wrapped his hands around your waist, yours around his neck. He could read your every move and he knew that you wanted him near you. Bakugou felt you sneak your head into his neck and he tried to not let his teeth show as he smiled.
Bakugou was planning something, and you just didn’t know it yet. Things were okay with the two of you, and he could finally sleep again.

A week after everything went back to normal Bakugou, had been over at your house more than usual and you didn’t know why. It didn’t bother you but it was definitely weird that he was with you constantly especially when he told you that he liked being by himself when you were younger. The week had been filled with constant conversations from the two of you ranging between school to what you missed with one another during the week you hadn’t talked. There were small lingering touches between you and Bakugou, but you wish there was more. He seemed to be constantly touching you in some way and made sure to pay for things when you were together.
The day after the fourth day of making up with him, it was as uneventful as a Wednesday could be without Bakugou. He stayed home that day due to being sick and he claimed he’d be back at school the next day since some dumbass fever couldn’t take him down. He also said he didn’t want to get you sick, which you were thankful for, but you missed him. You pulled into your driveway and scrambled to get inside with all your belongings. You saw your parents that were in the kitchen and by the time you made it to your room, you saw your brother was sitting on your bed.
Your brother pointed at the open window, you could vaguely see the cute angry boy on the other side. You climbed out the window and made your way to him, sitting with your knees touching on the small platform, and Bakugou was waiting for you with his fingers intertwined laid in his lap. He thought you looked beautiful with your hair slightly swaying with the small breeze and how the smile never left your lips. Bakugou hopes that the smile was because of him. You started laughing and the blond boy narrowed his eyes,
“Aren’t you supposed to be sick?” The tension left his shoulders at your comment and he chuckled while watching you mess with the string at the end of your shirt.
“Just keep your mouth shut until I’m done okay?” He watched a blush rise to your cheeks and he wanted to take a picture to remember this moment forever. He took a deep breath and moved so you were facing one another directly.
“I think I’ve been in love with you for a while and I am just now realizing it. I almost lost you and yeah I would've been fine but that doesnt matter. Anyways you’re kinda slow and you sleep like a log-“
“Katsuki?”
“Shut up I’m not done.” You giggled and noticed the tips of his ears were pink.
“But you also make my heart beat faster. You make me want to be better, and to try harder with my parents. You’re the only pretty girl in our class and quite frankly I’d rather spend the rest of my life with you rather than anyone else I know.” Bakugou’s eyes were closed and you tapped his knee to get his eyes back on you. He saw tears cloud your eyes and he felt a tug at his heart.
“Will you kiss me?” You watched Bakugou as a shit eating grin overtook his face.
Bakugou moved closer to grab your face, his touch comforting, you leaned into his touch waiting for his next move. Bakugou watched your eyes fall shut when his fingers started wiping your tears, he thought he had never seen anything prettier. You were perfect in his eyes and he loved everything about you. He pushed short hair behind your ears and cupped your face. Bakugou brought his lips to yours, you smiled into it. You had only kissed one other boy before Bakugou and it was actually one of your closest friends today, Kaminari still made fun of the kiss that you both shared in seventh grade during a game of spin the bottle. This kiss though, this kiss with Bakugou was electrifying. It made you want more and your skin felt like it was on fire. You loved the way his lips felt against yours. Your hands clenched into fists before moving to rest against his face. He was warm and you thought you could hold him forever. Bakugou tilted his head and backed away to smile with his teeth before going back in, the boy couldn’t get enough of you or your lips. He’d kiss you until the end of time if you’d let him. After a few more small pecks and the slightest whine from the boy when you pulled away, you grabbed his hands off you and laced your fingers together.
“You can kiss me whenever you want but I’m kind of hungry.” He groaned and leaned in for another small kiss, surprising you, and made moves to leave. He pushed you into your room and the moment your feet were on the ground, he pulled you against his body.
“My parents wanted to go out to eat, and you’re welcome to come with. I still need to ask you something Y/n.” Your stomach filled with butterflies at the thought of his question but you smiled as you tugged his body closer to yours.
“Yeah I guess I’ll be your girlfriend, you dummy.” It was his turn to smile and he let your waist go only to bring his lips to yours again. You pushed his chest away after a few seconds,
“Also you know I never really liked Todoroki, and I was only using him to get over you cause I thought you’d never like me back.” You clutched his shirt in your hands and he rewrapped his hands around your middle.
“Good, screw that bastard. You’re too good for him.” He watched as your eyes crinkle when you laughed and he swore he fell in love again.
~~~
You thought after becoming Bakugou’s girlfriend, the pranks would stop, but it seemed to only spur him on even more, as he could repay you with kisses now. Your short hair was currently covered in baby power and when he came up behind you to hold your waist, you rubbed your head against his shirt.
“This is your fault ‘Suki.” He scoffed but you could see the smile through the mirror.
“It’s all worth it baby.” You ran your finger across the bridge of his nose and he watched you with steady eyes. Bakugou kissed your forehead and squeezed your sides. You placed your hands on his and he twisted your bodies around so you could see the other culprit, he ran away as soon as the two of you locked eyes.
“Hey! Get back here!” Bakugou retracted his hands from your sides watching as you started tickling your brother and inevitably getting baby powder everywhere. Bakugou couldn’t have been happier, he finally had the girl of his dreams and he was so lucky that he fell for someone like you.
