oh boy youāre giving pro life
yay! š
You should abort your down syndrome child if you live in a country without universal healthcare and strong social programs and infrastructure. Spare it a life of cruelty.
"Only the State can make a life with Down's Syndrome worth living"
Are you fucking retarded? Did you get dropped on your head as a child? I know you don't have Down's because they aren't this fucking stupid.

@disgruntledseagull you look entertained by the subject matter

This is either The Ordeal or The Road Back depending on whether they're given a little piece after. If they get the food themselves, then it's The Resurrection.

So today my gf asked me "Does the dog die in Turner and Hooch?" and I confidently answered her "Oh no the dog definitely doesn't die in the end! I remember seeing that when I was a kid!"
It's not "bold-faced liar" ok?
It's "bald-faced liar" and it refers to someone who is such a natural liar that they do not need to hide their expressions behind a beard or other covering to be believed, not to someone who is unconcerned as to whether or not they are seen to be lying.
The phrase ābald-faced lieā is widely used, but some people say ābold-facedā instead. A look at the expressionās history shows how both form
āBald-faced lieā and ābold-faced lieā are both used to describe the same thingābut are they interchangeable, or is only one of them actually
Learn whether to use bald-faced lie or bold-faced lie in this short guide.
Is is 'bald-faced,' 'bold-faced' or 'barefaced lie'? We'll help you make the right choice, plus teach you how to use it in a sentence.
Idk man, sounds like both are valid. I get what you're saying, but it's almost like the two versions have slightly different meanings.
I hate it when the original justification for the saying is lost, alright?
"Bold faced" does not carry forward the idea of an bearded or uncovered face, and it doesn't imply the same sort of inscrutability as the original saying.
Also, stuff that popped up in the late 20th century doesn't count as proper usage yet, in my opinion. The jury is still out on whether or not the modern confused saying will persist in the language at all, and I would prefer to discourage it from doing so because it's a misinterpretation that just happened to fit well enough to be adopted, and those suck imo.
Also some of these links are saying that "bald-faced" refers to an obvious lie and I just don't agree with that. It refers to a lie that is concealed by clever presentation and strict control of expression and body language. One that you would have to have prior knowledge of the truth to uncover.
A bald-faced liar is one that brazenly tells lies that are believable to an unwitting audience, not someone who tells obvious lies.
I think that your interpretation (or maybe the original one, idk) is truly a different meaning than bold-faced, though. Bold-faced lie is an obvious, blatant lie. Your definition of bald-faced is literally the opposite.
Agreed.
As long as people don't misuse it to mean what a bald-faced liar means it's fine I guess, but the thing that spurred this post in the first place was someone calling a clever and successful liar a "bold-faced liar" which is as we have discussed here, wrong.
What is a āboldā face? That doesnāt make sense.
I think they would be using the third definition?
Again, I think it's a mistaken saying in the first place, but the third definition could be shoehorned into place, and forced to serve the purpose, although it is a clumsy way to use the word for sure.
