Although, I don’t think we can ignore the fact that Disney has dropped the ball somewhat on promoting this Jasmine doll. They announced her only in Facebook, no blog post, a month ago with a single really ugly picture, and since then, nothing. She’s not featured on the store website, they haven’t made an announcement that she’s on sale, her doll wasn’t on display in stores in advance (at least not my store), nothing. The common shoppers don’t know she exists, and after getting burned on the last three doll releases a lot of scalpers have backed off, leaving her basically only for collectors, who are burned out with some many recent/upcoming releases, not to mention protesting the shiny skin/lessening quality of the line.
While yeah, there is less demand for her than say, Frozen, or Ariel, but if she had been given the same level of attention as some of the other dolls, or hey, a little extra to boost her appeal, maybe her sales would be a little better.
It just feels like the Disney Store almost sets these princesses up to fail, giving them less because they are "less popular", thus ensuring that they remain less popular, reinforcing the idea to corporate that they should continue giving less to them.
