Tea, trees, and books

With a collection of old books and a well stocked tea cupboard, I'm making my way through Uni with growing aspirations to move to Italy and surround myself with beauty and art in the everyday.

I think I know what I want to do with my life. 

I mean, I've been lucky enough to have known for a while the area in which I am interested in studying/working in eventually, but I've been a bit unsure of what element of said area I was most drawn to. However, in my class today we were talking about manuscripts (particularly from the early medieval time period), and how there are people who just study the manuscripts and analyse them, and look at how they were made/what they were made of, and THATS JUST IT FOR ME. I'm so down.

Imagine this: A little room at the back of a library, just big enough for my desk, a table, and an armchair. To get to it, you have to go through this little hallway that's partially hidden, which connects you directly to the archives of the library, where they keep all the books and manuscripts that are too precious and breakable to be on the shelves for everyday use. THIS IS WHERE I WOULD SPEND MY DAYS.

Man, I would be so happy.

Sometimes I stress about too many little things. My bangs are too poofy, my watch is too shiny, my shoes make too much noise on the floor in the quiet part of the library, people might judge how much sugar I put in my coffee, that sort of thing. But then I come home, and I surround myself with my books and my succulent plants, and my tea, and everything seems okay again. 

It's way too easy to get caught up in the little problems, and forget to focus on the better things in life, even when they seem small and insignificant. For instance; Lofo friend dates, cheesy scones, cuddling up to watch a Disney movie, microwave popcorn, baking cookies, knitting, watching your favourite TV show repeats (read: The Office and/or F.R.I.E.N.D,S,), going for a walk down to the water to watch the sunset, listening to the rain on your window, reading your favourite book... the list goes on and on.

I guess what I'm saying is, don't let the little mundane things get in the way of your happiness, and if they do, make sure to take the time to find yourself again.

You know why? 'Cause you're worth it.
